นายภาคภูมิ อินทรสุวรรณ กล่าวว่า ปัญหายาเสพติดเป็นนโยบายที่ทางโดยผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดได้ให้ความสำคัญที่จะต้องเร่งดำเนินการและปราบปรามอย่างจริงจัง โดยการดำเนินงานตามตัวชี้วัด ตามแผนปฏิบัติการป้องกันและแก้ไขปัญหายาเสพติดของจังหวัดภูเก็ตประกอบด้วย 1.แผนป้องกันยาเสพติด ในยุทธศาสตร์ที่ 1 การป้องกันกลุ่มผู้มีโอกาสเข้าไปเกี่ยวข้องกับยาเสพติด ยุทธศาสตร์ที่ 6 การสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมเพื่อป้องกันยาเสพติด และยุทธศาสตร์ที่ 7 การมีส่วนร่วมภาคประชาชน 2.แผนบำบัดรักษา ในยุทธศาสตร์ที่ 2 การแก้ไขปัญหาผู้เสพ ผู้ติดยาเสพติด และยุทธศาสตร์ที่ 3 การสร้างและพัฒนาระบบรองรับการคืนคนดีให้สังคม 3.แผนปราบปรามยาเสพติด ตามยุทธศาสตร์ที่ 4 การควบคุมตัวยาและผู้ค้ายาเสพติด และ 4.แผนบริหารจัดการอย่างบูรณาการ ตามยุทธศาสตร์ที่ 8 การบริหารจัดการอย่างบูรณาการ รวมทั้งหมด 15 แผนงาน เบิกจ่ายงบ ป.ป.ส. จำนวน 671,074.44 บาท คิดเป็นร้อยละ 24.96 และเบิกจ่ายงบพัฒนาจังหวัด 426,185 บาท คิดเป็นร้อยละ 10.89
