เมื่อวันที่ 1 ธันวาคม  2559 ที่ห้องประชุม ศาลากลางจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายศรัณยู เสมา หัวหน้าสำนักงานจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานประชุมคณะทำงานบริหารการจัดเก็บข้อมูลความจำเป็นพื้นฐาน (จปฐ.) และข้อมูลพื้นฐานระดับหมู่บ้าน (กชช.2ค) ปี 2560 โดยมี ส่วนราชการที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วม

นายศรัณยู เสมา หัวหน้าสำนักงานจังหวัด ภูเก็ต กล่าวว่า จังหวัดภูเก็ต ได้รับมอบหมายจากกระทรวงมหาดไทยในการจัดเก็บข้อมูลความจำเป็นพื้นฐานทุกครัวเรือนเป็นประจำทุกปี และข้อมูลพื้นฐานระดับหมู่บ้านเป็นประจำทุก 2 ปี และในปี 2560 เป็นปีแรกของแผนพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติฉบับที่ 12 (พ.ศ. 2560-2564) ให้ทุกจังหวัดจัดเก็บข้อมูลความจำเป็นพื้นฐาน ระหว่างเดือนมกราคม-มีนาคม และข้อมูลพื้นฐานระดับหมู่บ้าน ระหว่างเดือนมกราคม-เมษายน 2560 เพื่อให้การจัดเก็บให้มีประสิทธิภาพ ได้ข้อมูลที่มีความถูกต้องและครบถ้วนสามารถนำไปใช้ประโยชน์ในการวางแผนแก้ปัญหาและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชนได้อย่างแท้จริงในทุกระดับ

นางวรรณธนา ไฝสีดำ พัฒนาการจังหวัดภูเก็ต กล่าวว่า ในปี 2560 จังหวัดภูเก็ต มีเป้าหมายในการจัดเก็บข้อมูลความจำเป็นพื้นฐานใน 154 หมู่บ้านจำนวน  90,180 ครัวเรือน อำเภอเมืองจำนวน  52,264 ครัวเรือน อำเภอถลาง จำนวน  27,702 ครัวเรือน และอำเภอกะทู้จำนวน  10,214 ครัวเรือน โดยกรมการพัฒนาชุมชนสนับสนุนงบประมาณ ค่าจัดเก็บข้อมูลและค่าบันทึกข้อมูลทั้งหมด  90,180 ครัวเรือน รวม 1,623,240 บาท (ค่าจัดเก็บข้อมูล 12 บาทต่อครัวเรือนและบันทึกข้อมูล 6 บาทต่อครัวเรือน)

ทั้งนี้ในการเก็บข้อมูลในครั้งนี้จะมีการจัดเก็บข้อมูลจำนวนคนต่างด้าวที่เข้ามาอาศัยในพื้นที่จังหวัดภูเก็ตด้วย เพื่อเป็นฐานข้อมูลในการบริหารจัดการพัฒนาจังหวัดภูเก็ตต่อไป
