จังหวัดภูเก็ต เดินหน้าโครงการขับเคลื่อนยุทธศาสตร์ด้านการอนุรักษ์พลังงานจังหวัด เพื่อนำร่องส่งเสริมการบริหารจัดการด้านพลังงานให้มีการใช้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและพร้อมเป็นต้นแบบให้กับจังหวัดท่องเที่ยว ในภาคใต้

เมื่อวันที่ 1 ธันวาคม 2558  เวลา 09.00 น. ที่ห้องประชุม ชั้น 2 โรงแรมรอยัลภูเก็ตซิตี้ จังหวัดภูเก็ต สำนักงานพลังงานจังหวัดภูเก็ต จัดสัมมนารับฟังความคิดเห็นโครงการศึกษาเพื่อขับเคลื่อนยุทธศาสตร์ด้านการอนุรักษ์พลังงานจังหวัดภูเก็ต หลังจากที่ได้มีการว่าจ้างมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี เป็นที่ปรึกษาดำเนินโครงการฯ โดยมีนายประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานเปิดการสัมมนารับฟัง ความคิดเห็นในครั้งนี้ / โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมสัมมนากว่า 150 คน ซึ่งประกอบด้วย บุคลากรจากหน่วยงานภาครัฐ องค์กร สมาคม ผู้ประกอบการโรงแรม รีสอร์ท อาคารธุรกิจ ศูนย์การค้า ห้างสรรพสินค้า โรงพยาบาล ตลอดจนภาคอุตสาหกรรม และโรงงานในพื้นที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต

นายประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เปิดเผยถึงการจัดทำโครงการศึกษาเพื่อขับเคลื่อนยุทธศาสตร์ด้านการอนุรักษ์พลังงานจังหวัดภูเก็ต ว่า สืบเนื่องจากภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย มีการใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้ามากกว่ากำลังที่ผลิตได้ และไม่เพียงพอต่อการใช้ในพื้นที่ โดยมีกำลังผลิตประมาณ 1,600 MW แต่มีปริมาณการใช้ทั้งหมดประมาณ 2,450 MW โดยส่วนที่เกินต้องพึ่งพาพลังงานไฟฟ้าจากภาคกลางและประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน คือ มาเลเซีย ดังนั้นการบริหารจัดการด้านพลังงานไฟฟ้าให้มีการใช้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพจึงเป็นทางเลือกที่ดี ในการสร้างความมั่นคงด้านพลังงานไฟฟ้าในพื้นที่ เพราะหากสามารถดำเนินการลดความต้องการใช้ไฟฟ้าได้ร้อยละ 10 หรือประมาณ 245 MW จะสามารถเพิ่มความมั่นคงด้านไฟฟ้าในภาคใต้ได้ และสามารถ ลดการลงทุนในการสร้างโรงไฟฟ้าได้ไม่น้อยกว่า 1 หมื่นล้านบาท ทั้งนี้ เพื่อเป็นการสร้างต้นแบบนำร่องให้กับจังหวัดในภาคใต้ โครงการฯ พิจารณาเลือกจังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นตัวอย่างในการดำเนินการ ซึ่งในปี 2557 จังหวัดภูเก็ตมีการใช้ไฟฟ้าประมาณ 359 MW มีนักท่องเที่ยวประมาณ 12 ล้านคนต่อปีและเป็นจังหวัดที่อยู่ปลายส่งไฟฟ้า และเป็นจังหวัดที่มีศักยภาพสูง มีกลุ่ม เป้าหมาย ประกอบด้วย โรงแรม ศูนย์การค้าโรงพยาบาล หน่วยงานราชการและโรงงานอุตสาหกรรม สำหรับการสัมมนาในครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อชี้แจงหลักการ /การดำเนินโครงการและแผนงานโครงการ รวมทั้งนำเสนอแนวทางการศึกษาเบื้องต้น พร้อมทั้งรับฟังความคิดเห็นจากผู้เข้าร่วมสัมมนาซึ่งเป็นประชาชนในพื้นที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต เพื่อนำข้อคิดเห็นและข้อเสนอแนะที่ได้ไปปรับปรุงปรับเปลี่ยน ตามความเหมาะสมและเพื่อกำหนดแนวทางในการจัดทำแผนส่งเสริมแบบบูรณาการด้านการอนุรักษ์พลังงานของจังหวัดภูเก็ตได้อย่างถูกต้องและเป็นประโยชน์ต่อไป
