เปิดแล้วที่ทำการงานสัตวแพทย์ (คลินิกสัตว์เล็ก) เทศบาลนครภูเก็ต

  เมื่อวันที่ 17  พฤษภาคม 2559 เวลา 09.30 น. ได้มีพิธีเปิดที่ทำการงานสัตวแพทย์ (คลินิกสัตว์เล็ก) อย่างเป็นทางการณ บริเวณด้านหลังอาคารสำนักงานเทศบาลนครภูเก็ต

นางสาวสมใจ  สุวรรณศุภพนา  นายกเทศมนตรีนครภูเก็ต กล่าวว่า การดูแลคุณภาพชีวิตในด้านความปลอดภัยและทรัพย์สินของพี่น้องประชาชนนั้น เทศบาลนครภูเก็ตได้ให้ความสำคัญยิ่ง ปัจจุบันพื้นที่ในเขตเทศบาลนครภูเก็ตเป็นอีกพื้นที่หนึ่งที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากปัญหาสัตว์จรจัดและสัตว์เลี้ยง โดยเฉพาะสัตว์ที่อยู่ใกล้ตัวประเภทสุนัขและแมว ซึ่งสัตว์เหล่านี้ล้วนเป็นสัตว์พาหะนำโรคพิษสุนัขบ้ามาสู่คน การถูกทำร้ายจากสัตว์จรจัด เจ้าของสัตว์เลี้ยงขาดความตระหนักความรู้ความเข้าใจในการดูแลอย่างถูกต้องก่อให้เกิดปัญหาในเรื่องของกลิ่นและเสียงหรือสัตว์เลี้ยงหมดความน่ารักไม่เป็นที่ต้องการก็จะนำไปปล่อยทิ้งตามที่สาธารณะต่าง ๆ ก่อให้ความเดือดร้อนแก่พี่น้องประชาชน

เทศบาลนครภูเก็ตได้ตระหนักปัญหาดังกล่าว จึงได้จัดตั้งที่ทำการงานสัตวแพทย์ (คลินิกสัตว์เล็ก) ขึ้น เพื่อให้การดูแลสัตว์เลี้ยงและสัตว์จรจัด การป้องกันโรคพิษสุนัขบ้า ลดการปล่อยสัตว์เลี้ยงที่ไม่พึงประสงค์ในสถานที่สาธารณะ ให้การช่วยเหลือสัตว์จรจัดที่ได้รับบาดเจ็บ ให้คำปรึกษา แนะนำการดูแลสัตว์เลี้ยงอย่างถูกต้อง การทำหมันเพื่อควบคุมประชากรและฉีดวัคซีนป้องกันโรคพิษสุนัขบ้า  การเคลื่อนย้ายสัตว์จรจัดที่ก่อให้เกิดปัญหาในพื้นที่ไปยังสถานกักกันที่จัดไว้ (บ้านพักสุนัขจรจัด)

นายกเทศมนตรีนครภูเก็ต กล่าวอีกว่า  ที่ทำการงานสัตวแพทย์ หรือคลินิกสัตว์เล็ก เทศบาลนครภูเก็ต เปิดให้บริการ๒ ช่วงเวลา ในวันราชการได้แก่เวลา 09.00 – 12.00 น. และเวลา 13.00 – 15.00 น.หวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าที่ทำการงานสัตว์แพทย์ (คลินิกสัตว์เล็ก) เทศบาลนครภูเก็ตจะก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ในการแก้ไขปัญหาสัตว์จรจัดและสัตว์เลี่ยงให้แก่พี่น้องประชาชนในเขตเทศบาลนคภูเก็ตต่อไป
