นักศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏภูเก็ต คว้ารางวัลรองชนะเลิศอันดับ 2การประกวดสุนทรพจน์ภาษาอังกฤษ ระดับอาเซียน ประชันกับนักศึกษาราชภัฏในไทยและมหาวิทยาลัยจากประเทศเพื่อนบ้านอาเซียน

นางสาว ปรรณภัค ตาเครือ นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4 สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ คณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏภูเก็ต เข้าร่วมประกวดสุนทรพจน์ภาษาอังกฤษ ระดับอาเซียน (International English Contest for Rajabhat and Asean Universities) ซึ่งมีผู้เข้าร่วมประกวดจาก มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏทั่วประเทศ และมหาวิทยาลัยจากประเทศกลุ่มอาเซียน ซึ่งวัตถุประสงค์การจัดประกวดรายการดังกล่าว เพื่อเปิดเวทีให้นักศึกษาได้ใช้ทักษะทางด้านภาษาอังกฤษที่ได้ศึกษามา นำมาพูดเบื้องหน้าสาธารณะชนในประเด็นเกี่ยวกับมุมมองที่มีต่อการเปิดเสรีประชาคมอาเซียน เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นและแนวคิดผ่านสุนทรพจน์ของนักศึกษา อีกทั้งยังเป็นการสร้างประสบการณ์ให้นักศึกษาของราชภัฏในประเทศไทย ได้มีบทบาทร่วมกับนักศึกษาจากเพื่อนบ้าน โดยใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นสื่อกลาง

สำหรับการประกวดครั้งนี้มีผู้เข้าร่วม 36 คน โดยแบ่งการแข่งขันเป็น 2 รอบ คือ รอบคัดเลือก (Audition) และรอบ 10 คนสุดท้าย (Final) ผลปรากฏว่า นางสาว ปรรณภัค ตาเครือ จากมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏภูเก็ต สามารถเข้าถึงรอบสุดท้ายและจบการประกวดด้วยรางวัลรองชนะเลิศอันดับที่ 2 ด้วยการทักษะในการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษที่แม่นยำ บวกกับบุคลิกภาพมั่นใจ และการถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวผ่านสุนทรพจน์ได้อย่างน่าสนใจ  การประกวดจัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 14 ม.ค. 58 ณ มหาวิทยาลัยเทพสตรี จังหวัดลพบุรี
