วันที่ 28 เมษายน 2559 ที่ด่านศุลกากรท่าอากาศยานภูเก็ต นายจำเริญ ทิพญพงศ์ธาดา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต พร้อมด้วย นางหัทยา ทิพยะวัฒน์ นายด่านศุลกากรท่าอากาศยานภูเก็ต นายวิศิษฐ์ พีรพัฒนานนท์ นักวิชาการศุลกากรชำนาญการ หัวหน้าชุดจับกุม และเจ้าหน้าที่ศุลกากร ร่วมกันแถลงข่าวการจับกุม นางสาวอัจฉรา วิโค อายุ 21 ปี สัญชาติไทย ลักลอบนำเข้ายาเสพติดให้โทษ ประเภท 2 โคเคน น้ำหนัก 1,800 กรัม มูลค่าโดยประมาณ 5.4 ล้านบาท
ผู้ต้องหารายนี้เป็นผู้โดยสารเดินทางมาจากดูไบ ประเทศสหรัฐอาหรับเอมิเรตส์ โดยสารการบินเอมิเรตส์ เที่ยวบินที่ EK 394 วันที่ 27 เมษายน ถึงสนามบินภูเก็ตเวลา 04.15 น.ของวันที่ 28 เม.ย.2559 เจ้าหน้าที่ชุดจับกุมได้ทำการตรวจค้น พบยาเสพติดดังกล่าว จำนวน 100 ก้อน ห่อหุ้มด้วยกระดาษช็อกโกแลตปะปนมากับช็อกโกแลต จำนวน 2 กล่อง อยู่ในถุงดิวตี้ฟรี น้ำหนักรวมสิ่งห่อหุ้มโดยประมาณ 1,800 กรัม มูลค่าโดยประมาณ 5.4 ล้านบาท จากการสอบถามผู้ต้องหาให้การรับสารภาพว่า มีผู้ว่าจ้างจากกรุงเทพมหานคร(ไม่ทราบชื่อ) ซึ่งได้ติดต่อกันทางโทรศัพท์ ให้ตนนำยาเสพติดไปส่งให้กับลูกค้าในพื้นที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต ชื่อนายไมเคิล ไม่ทราบชื่อ นามสกุลจริง ซึ่งตนจะได้รับค่าจ้างวานครั้งนี้ จำนวน 1.5 แสนบาท
เจ้าหน้าที่ศุลกากรจึงได้แจ้งข้อกล่าวหาว่ามียาเสพติดให้โทษประเภท 2 โคเคน ไว้ในครอบครองเพื่อจำหน่ายและนำเข้ามาในราชอาณาจักรโดยไม่ได้รับอนุญาต ซึ่งการกระทำดังกล่าวเป็นความผิดตาม พ.ร.บ.ยาเสพติดให้โทษ พ.ศ.2522 และ พ.ร.บ.ศุลกากร พ.ศ.2469 มาตรา 27 ประกอบกับ พ.ร.บ.ศุลกากร(ฉบับที่ 9) พ.ศ.2482 มาตรา 16 และมาตรา 17 และกฎหมายอื่นที่เกี่ยวข้อง จากนั้นได้นำตัวผู้ต้องหาพร้อมของกลางส่งพนักงานสอบสวน สถานีตำรวจภูธรท่าฉัตรไชย อ.ถลาง เพื่อดำเนินคดีตามกฎหมายต่อไป
