เมื่อวันที่ 8 กรกฎาคม 2558 ที่อาคารโรงสุราเก่า  สวนสาธารณะลานกีฬา@ อ.กะทู้  นายชัยอนันท์ สุทธิกุล นายกเทศมนตรีเทศบาลเมืองกะทู้ แถลงข่าว โครงการ “ถีบหรอย กินของ แลในทู ต้านยาเสพติด”  โดยมี นายสมบูรณ์ อัยรักษ์ รองนายกเทศมนตรีเทศบาลเมืองกะทู้ฝ่ายสาธารณสุข นายอรรถาพงษ์ จันทรัตนวงศ์  รองนายกเทศมนตรีเทศบาลเมืองกะทู้ฝ่ายการศึกษา  นายสายัณห์ ชนะชัยวงศ์ นายอำเภอเมืองกะทู้ และคณะผู้บริหารเทศบาลเมืองกะทู้ เข้าร่วม

นายชัยอนันท์ สุทธิกุล กล่าวว่า โครงการ “ถีบหรอย กินของ แลในทู ต้านยาเสพติด” เกิดขึ้นจากที่ทางเทศบาลเมืองกะทู้ได้เล็งเห็นถึงปัญหายาเสพติดที่กำลังเป็นปัญหาร้ายแรงในปัจจุบัน ทำให้เป็นภัยต่อสุขภาพกาย สุขภาพจิต ทำให้ส่งผลต่อสังคม เศรษฐกิจ และบั่นทอนความเจริญของประเทศ ทางเทศบาลกะทู้เล็งเห็นถึงปัญหานี้ และตั้งใจที่จะกำหนดนโยบายต่างๆ ขึ้นมาเพื่อสนับสนุนการป้องกัน และแก้ปัญหายาเสพติดทุกรูปแบบ และต้องการให้ประชาชนเล็งเห็นถึงความสำคัญของการออกกำลังกาย จึงได้จัดกิจกรรมปั่นจักรยานต้านภัยยาเสพติดขึ้น เพื่อเชิญชวนให้ประชาชนเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการป้องกันไม่ให้ปัญหายาเสพติดระบาดในพื้นที่ และให้ทราบถึงมหันตภัยร้ายแรงของยาเสพติด ทั้งเป็นการรวมพลังกระตุ้นให้ประชาชนในชุมชนหันมาใส่ใจสุขภาพมากขึ้น

โครงการ “ถีบหรอย กินของ แลในทู ต้านยาเสพติด” ในครั้งนี้นอกจากจะส่งเสริมการปั่นจักรยานเพื่อสุขภาพแล้ว ยังให้ท่านที่มาร่วมปั่นได้ชมทิวทัศน์ และความสวยงามของสถานที่ต่างๆ โดยรอบเมืองกะทู้อีกด้วย โดยงาน “ถีบหรอย กินของ แลในทู ต้านยาเสพติด” จะจัดขึ้นในวันที่ 18 และ 19 กรกฎาคม  2558 โดยเป็นวันเสาร์ อาทิตย์ โดยวันเสาร์ที่ 18 กรกฎาคม  เรากำหนดให้เป็นวัน Lady Bike นักปั่นหญิงจะได้มารวมพลังให้เห็นว่า ผู้หญิงก็มีใจรักในการออกกำลังกาย โดยการปั่นจักรยานไม่แพ้ผู้ชาย และวันอาทิตย์ 19 กรกฎาคม จะเป็น Open Bike คือไม่กำหนดทุกคนสามารถมาเข้าร่วมการปั่นได้ โดยไม่จำกัดรุ่นจักรยาน เพศ และวัย เพื่อเป็นการส่งเสริมการออกกำลังกายในประชาชนทุกเพศ ทุกวัย นั่นคือเป้าหมายอันสูงสุดที่เทศบาลเมืองกะทู้คาดหวัง

นายสมบูรณ์ อัยรักษ์ กล่าวว่า โครงการ “ถีบหรอย กินของ แลในทู ต้านยาเสพติด”   และ โครงการ “มหกรรมอาหารปลอดภัย” ที่จะจัดขึ้น ควบคู่กันไปในครั้งนี้ ทางเทศบาลได้เล็งเห็น และให้ความสำคัญเกี่ยวกับสุขภาพพลานามัยของคนในชุมชนมาเป็นอันดับหนึ่ง ซึ่งการดำรงชีวิตในปัจจุบัน คนส่วนใหญ่มักพึ่งพาอาหารปรุงสำเร็จ หรืออาหารสำเร็จรูปที่วางขายในรูปแบบต่างๆ ทั้งแผงลอย หรือร้านค้า ที่ทางเทศบาลเมืองกะทู้เห็นว่าสถานประกอบการเหล่านี้ ควรใส่ใจในเรื่องความสะอาดปลอดภัยของผู้บริโภคต้องเป็นเรื่องสำคัญอันดับหนึ่ง จึงเป็นงานสำคัญที่ทางเทศบาลเมืองกะทู้ต้องควบคุม ดูแลให้ผู้ประกอบการด้านอาหารต้องคำนึงถึงผู้บริโภคมากที่สุด ซึ่งในงาน “มหกรรมอาหารปลอดภัย” นี้ จะมีการสาธิตการทำอาหารพื้นเมืองต่างๆ เช่น หมี่ฮกเกี้ยน เกี๋ยวโก้ย โอวต๊าว อาโป๊ง ฉ่ายเอี่ยนโก้ย และโก้ยตาล้าม และเลือกชิมอาหารจากร้านค้าที่ทางเทศบาลกะทู้ได้คัดสรรมาแล้วว่าสะอาด อร่อย และปลอดภัย

นายอรรถาพงษ์ จันทรัตนวงศ์ เสริมว่า การปั่นจักรยานในครั้งนี้เป็นการปั่นแบบท่องเที่ยวชมวิวทิวทัศน์ และความสวยงามของเมืองกะทู้ และสถานที่สำคัญต่างๆ เส้นทางปั่นในครั้งนี้เป็นเส้นทางถนนสายวัฒนธรรมซึ่งเป็นถนนที่มีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ของเมืองกะทู้ สถานที่สำคัญที่ผ่าน ศาลเจ้ากะทู้ หรือที่ชาวภูเก็ตเรียกว่า อ๊ามกะทู้ ศาลเจ้าแห่งนี้เป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของประเพณีถือศีลกินผักของชาวภูเก็ตที่สืบต่อมาเป็นประเพณีสำคัญของขาวภูเก็ตจนถึงปัจจุบัน อีกสถานที่หนึ่งที่สำคัญไม่แพ้กัน คือ วัดกะทู้, ศาลเจ้าต้องย่องสู, สวนสาธารณะกะทู้ ซึ่งมีโรงเหล้าที่เป็นอาคารชิโนโปรตุกีสที่เก่าแก่มากที่สุดแห่งหนึ่ง และได้ดัดแปลงพื้นที่โรงเหล้าเก่า ให้กลายเป็นพื้นที่สุขภาพเพื่อชุมชน ในชื่อว่า สวนสาธารณะลานกีฬา@ อ.กะทู้

การรับสมัครแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ช่องทาง คือ 1. ทางเฟสบุ๊ค และ 2. สมัครด้วยตนเอง  ผู้สมัครที่อยู่ในโซนกะทู้ สามารถโหลดใบสมัครมาจากเฟสบุ๊คมาส่งได้ที่เทศบาลเมืองกะทู้ ส่วนผู้ที่อยู่ในเมือง นำใบสมัครไปส่งได้ที่ร้าน Photo Caf’e ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ถนนพังงา ตรงข้ามโรงแรมสิทวี ในช่วงวันเวลาราชการ จะปิดรับสมัครในวันที่ 14 กรกฎาคมนี้

การสมัครในครั้งนี้มีค่าใช่จ่าย 300 บาท ผู้สมัครจะได้รับเสื้อ, เหรียญที่ระลึก, ประกันอุบัติเหตุ และคูปองอาหารที่ท่านสามารถนำไปใช้ในงาน มหกรรมอาหารที่ทางเทศบาลกะทู้ได้จัดขึ้นควบคู่กับงานปั่นจักรยานในครั้งนี้
