เมื่อวันที่ 20 พฤษภาคม  2559  เวลา 13.30 น. ทีมนักเตะ “จิ้งจอกสยาม” เลสเตอร์ ซิตี แชมป์พรีเมียร์ลีก ฤดูกาล 2015-16 พร้อมคณะรวม 71 คน นำโดยโดย นายวิชัย ศรีวัฒนประภา ประธานสโมสรฯ นายอัยยวัฒน์ ศรีวัฒนประภา รองประธานสโมสรฯ  นายเคลาดิโอ รานิเอรี่ ผู้ฝึกสอน แคสเปอร์ ชไมเคิล ผู้รักษาประตูมือ 1, เวส มอร์แกน กัปตันทีม ได้เดินทางถึงท่าอากาศยานนานชาติภูเก็ต ด้วยสายการบินแอร์เอเชีย เช่าเหมาลำเที่ยวบินที่ FD 9800 ซึ่งออกจากสนามบินดอนเมืองช่วงเวลา 12.10 น.วันเดียวกัน ท่ามกลางการรอต้อนรับของทีมแฟนบอลจังหวัดภูเก็ตนำโดยนายธรรมวรรธ วงศ์เจริญยศ นายกสมาคมกีฬาแห่งจังหวัดภูเก็ต นางมนฤดี เกตุพันธ์ ผู้อำนวยการท่าอากาศยานภูเก็ต นายสันติ ป่าหวาย ผู้อำนวยการท่องเที่ยวกีฬาจังหวัดภูเก็ต  พ.ต.อ.ศักดิ์ชัย ลิ้มเจริญ รองผู้บังคับการตำรวจภูธรจังหวัดภูเก็ต และแฟนบอลที่มารอรับแน่นหน้าท่ากาศยานภูเก็ต

โดยหลังจากนั้นได้ทางออกจากสนามบินภูเก็ตโดยบัสเดินทางไปยังที่พักโรงแรมอนันตรา หาดลายัน ต.เชิงทะเล อ.ถลาง จ.ภูเก็ตท่ามกลางการดูแลความปลอดภัยของเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจและทหาร สำหรับการเดินทางมาในครั้งนี้มีกำหนดพักผ่อนในภูเก็ตระหว่างวันที่ 20-22 พ.ค.59 โดยในวันที่ 22 พ.ค.59 มีจะเดินทางด้วยสารดารบินแอร์แอเชียเที่ยวบินที่ FD 9800 ไปยังเมืองย่างกุ้ง ประเทศเมียนมาร์
