นายเสถียร พลเยี่ยม ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทร์ภูเก็ต เปิดเผยในการแถลงข่าวตามโครงการผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ตแถลงข่าวกับสื่อมวลชนในวันนี้ (11 มี.ค. 58) ว่า โรงเรียนเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพรศรีนครินทร์ภูเก็ตได้เข้าประกวดวงโยธวาทิตนักเรียน นักศึกษาประเภท ข ถ้วยพระราชทานสมเด็จพระบรมโอรสาธิราชฯ สยามมกุฎราชกุมาร ครั้งที่ 34 ระหว่างวันที่ 6-11 มกราคม 2558 ณ สนามศุภชลาศัย กรุงเทพมหานคร ผลการแข่งขันปรากฏว่า วงโยธวาทิต โรงเรียนเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทร์ภูเก็ตในพระราชูปถัมภ์ สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารีชนะเลิศการแข่งขันการประกวดวงโยธวาทิตฯ ประจำปี 2558 ในรางวัลเครื่องลมดีเด่น รางวัลผู้แสดงประกอบดีเด่น รางวัลเครื่องกระทบดีเด่น รางวัลการเดินขบวนพาเหรดระดับเหรียญทองและรางวัลความสามารถระดับเหรียญทอง วงโยธวาทิต โรงเรียนเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทร์ ภูเก็ต ในพระราชูปถัมภ์ สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี เริ่มก่อตั้งปี พ.ศ.2544 ได้รับเงินสนับสนุนจากงบอุดหนุนของโรงเรียน งบประมาณอุดหนุนจากเทศบาลวิชิต และสมาคมผู้ปกครองและครูโรงเรียนเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทร์ ภูเก็ต ได้เริ่มต้นจากวงเล็ก มีเครื่องดนตรีจำนวนน้อย เริ่มบรรเลงนำขบวนพาเหรดของโรงเรียนมาตลอด และได้พัฒนาวงมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง เป็นที่ประจักษ์ต่อสาธารณชนและมีผลงานในระดับจังหวัด ระดับภาค และระดับประเทศในปัจจุบัน
