เมื่อวันที่ 13 พฤษภาคม 2558 เวลา 14.00 น.นายธนภณ แก้วบำรุง ผู้จัดการขายรายใหญ่ บริษัทโตโยต้าเพิร์ล จำกัด พร้อมด้วย นายกวี ตันสุคตานนท์ ประธานชมรมจักรยานภูเก็ต นายวิรัช พาที ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานการกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทยจังหวัดภูเก็ต พ.ต.ท.ธีรวัฒน์ เลี่ยมสุวรรณ รองผู้กำกับการจราจร สภ.เมืองภูเก็ต ร่วมกันแถลงข่าวการจัดกิจกรรมจักรยานการกุศล “ปั่นเพลินๆ กับ โตโยต้าเพิร์ล”
นายธนภณ กล่าวว่าสำหรับการจัดกิจกรรมครั้งนี้ เพื่อรณรงค์ส่งเสริมการใช้จักรยานในการออกกำลังกายเพื่อสุขภาพและรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อม เพื่อส่งเสริมการปั่นจักรยานให้ถูกกฎจราจรและปลอดภัยจากการใช้ถนนร่วมกัน เพื่อลดอุบัติเหตุ เพื่อช่วยลดภาวะโลกร้อนและประหยัดพลังงานตามนโยบายของรัฐบาล เพื่อหารายได้สมทบทุนให้สถานศึกษาที่ขาดแคลนในจังหวัดภูเก็ตโดยกิจกรรมดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นในวันอาทิตย์ที่ 24 พ.ค.นี้ ค่าสมัครท่านละ 350 บาทโดยขณะนี้มีผู้สนใจมาสมัครแล้วกว่า 700 คัน.

ด้านนายวิรัช พาที กล่าวว่ากระแสการปั่นจักรยานเพื่อออกกำลังกายกำลังมาแรงทาง กกท.พร้อมให้การสนับสนุนทั้งการปั่นเพื่อสุขภาพและการจัดการแข่งขันนอกจากนี้ในอนาคตจะมีการจัดอบรมให้ความรู้การขับขี่ที่ถูกวิธีและกฎจราจรเพื่อป้องกันการเกิดอุบัติเหตุ
