เมื่อวันที่ 17 สิงหาคม  2559  เวลา 09.40 น.  ที่ห้องรับรอง ศาลากลางจังหวัด นายจำเริญ ทิพญพงศ์ธาดา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต ให้การต้อนรับ ฯพณฯ นายซีมอน โรเด็ด เอกอัครราชทูตอิสราเอลประจำประเทศไทย พร้อมด้วย นายยูวาล วัคส์ รองหัวหน้าคณะผู้แทนทางการทูต ประเทศอิสราเอล โดยมี นายศรันยู เสมา หัวหน้าสำนักงานจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายชริน ธำรงเกียรติกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายกวี ตันสุคตานนท์ รองนายกเทศมนตรีนครภูเก็ต ร่วมให้การต้อนรับ

นายจำเริญ ทิพญพงศ์ธาดา กล่าวว่า การเข้าเยี่ยมครั้งนี้ เพื่อแสดงความขอบคุณที่จังหวัดภูเก็ตไม่ให้มีการแสดงของตลกชาวฝรั่งเศสที่มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวข้องกับความมั่นคงภายในประเทศอิสราเอลเมื่อปลายปีที่ผ่านมาโดยทางประเทศอิสราเอลได้นำเสนอข่าว และขอบคุณ จ.ภูเก็ตที่ไม่ให้มีการแสดงดังกล่าว สร้างความพึงพอใจให้กับประชาชนชาวอิสราเอลเป็นอย่างมาก ประเด็นที่ 2เพื่อศึกษาและแสวงหาความร่วมมือด้านการท่องเที่ยวร่วมกัน เนื่องจากจังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นจังหวัดที่มีชื่อเสียงด้านการท่องเที่ยวระดับโลก มีประชาชนชาวอิสราเอลเดินทางมาท่องเที่ยวที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต ไม่ต่ำกว่า ปีละ 1บ้าน 5 แสนคน นอกจากนี้ประเทศอิสราเอลได้ ได้นำเสนอความร่วมมือด้านการบริหารจัดการน้ำเนื่องจากประเทศอิสราเอลมีผู้เชี่ยวชาญและมีเทคโนโลยีในการบริหารจัดการน้ำโดยเฉพาะระบบการนำน้ำเสียมาบำบัดให้สามารถใช้งานได้ และสุดท้ายเป็นเรื่องของความปลอดภัยเนื่องจากจังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นเมือง smart city โดยผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ตกล่าวย้ำว่าจังหวัดภูเก็ตได้ให้ความสำคัญกับเรื่องของการรักษาความปลอดภัยเป็นอันดับแรก โดยเฉพาะในกลุ่มนักท่องเที่ยวทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างประเทศ ได้บูรณาการกับทุกภาคส่วน ระดมสรรพกำลัง ทุกพื้นที่ ช่วยกันเฝ้าระวังและดูแลความปลอดภัยเพื่อให้จังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นเมืองแห่งสันติสุข สร้างความเชื่อมั่นและภาพลักษณ์ที่ดีของประเทศต่อไป
