เมื่อวันที่ 24 พฤศจิกายน 2559 ที่ห้องประชุมศาลากลางจังหวัดภูเก็ต นางประภาศรี บุญวิเศษ ผู้ตรวจราชการสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี เขตตรวจราชการที่ 7 เป็นประธานในการประชุมคณะกรรมการธรรมาภิบาลจังหวัดภูเก็ต โดยมีคณะกรรมการจากภาคประชาสังคม, ภาคท้องถิ่น, ภาคเอกชน เข้าร่วม
นางประภาศรี บุญวิเศษ กล่าวว่า การประชุมในครั้งนี้เป็นการประชุมคณะกรรมการธรรมาภิบาลของจังหวัดภูเก็ตที่มาจากองค์กรต่าง ๆ เพื่อให้เป็นตัวแทนในการติดตามการทำงานของส่วนราชการต่าง ๆ เพื่อให้การทำโครงการต่าง ๆ มีความโปร่งใส มีประชาชนสามารถตรวจสอบได้ โดยยึดหลักประชาชนได้รับประโยชน์สูงสุดและการจัดทำโครงการต้องมีความคุ้มค่ากับงบประมาณที่ได้รับ นอกจากนี้ที่ประชุมได้มีมติในการลงพื้นที่สอดส่องโครงการตามแผนปฏิบัติราชการประจำปีงบประมาณ พ.ศ. 2560
