เมื่อวันที่ 14 กันยายน  2558  เวลา 13.30 น. ที่ห้องประชุมสำนักงานทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายสุธี ทองแย้ม รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานประชุมคณะกรรมการผู้ชำนาญการ พิจารณารายงานผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมจังหวัดภูเก็ต โดยมีนายเกษม สุขวารี ผู้อำนวยการทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายวีระ เกิดศิริมงคล นายอำเภอถลาง พร้อมคณะกรรมการที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วม

การประชุมที่สำคัญ ได้มีการพิจารณารายงานผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมเบื้องต้น และรายงานการวิเคราะห์ผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมโครงการประเภทที่พักอาศัยและบริการชุมชน ที่สำนักงานนโยบายและแผนทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมแจ้งความเห็นให้จังหวัดภูเก็ตดำเนินการพิจารณาตามขั้นตอนจำนวน 3 โครงการประกอบด้วย โครงการโรงแรม ชาเทเรียมโฮเต็ล สุรินทร์บีชจำนวน 262 ห้องพัก อยู่ในพื้นที่ ต. เชิงทะเล โครงการเซ็นทรัลเฟสติวัลภูเก็ต 2 ต. วิชิต และโครงการโรงแรมเลอรีสอร์ท จำนวน 54 ห้อง ต. ราไวย์ ทั้งนี้นายสุธี ทองแย้ม รอง ผวจ. ภูเก็ต ได้กำชับให้คณะกรรมการตรวจพื้นที่การก่อสร้าง โดยระหว่างก่อสร้างและหลังสร้างเสร็จแล้วไม่ให้กระทบต่อประชาชนบริเวณใกล้เคียง ทั้งเรื่องปัญหาน้ำท่วมขังปัญหาน้ำเสีย เป็นต้น
