จากกรณีเกิดแผ่นดินไหวที่ประเทศเนปาลขนาด 7.8 ริกเตอร์ เมื่อวันที่ 25 เมษายน 2558 ที่ผ่านมาและเกิดอ๊าฟเตอร์ช๊อค ( Aftershock )ตามมาอีกหลายครั้ง ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต /บาดเจ็บและไร้ที่อยู่อาศัยจำนวนมาก นั้น

จากกรณีดังกล่าว นายภานุพงศ์ ลิมบูประเสริฐ ประธานชมรมชาวไทยเชื้อสายเนปาลจังหวัดภูเก็ต เปิดเผยว่า หลังเกิดเหตุแผ่นดินไหวอย่างรุนแรงที่เนปาล และกรรมการชมรมพร้อมตัวแทนชาวเนปาลได้จัดตั้งศูนย์ช่วยเหลือขึ้นเพื่อรับบริจาคเงินสดและเสื้อผ้าอาหารแห้งนำไปช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยชาวเนปาลโดยเริ่มตั้งศูนย์ช่วยเหลือมาตั้งแต่วันที่ 27 เมษายนที่ผ่านมาและได้มีการส่งตัวแทนออกไปรับบริจาคเงินและสิ่งของตามแหล่งท่องเที่ยวต่าง ๆ ในพื้นที่ภูเก็ตทำให้ล่าสุดขณะนี้มียอดเงินบริจาคแล้วกว่า 5 แสนบาท เสื้อผ้าอาหารแห้งจำนวนหนึ่งซึ่งเงินสดทั้งหมดจะมอบให้กับสถานทูตเนปาลประจำประเทศไทยในวันที่ 7 พฤษภาคมนี้เพื่อนำไปช่วยเหลือชาวเนปาลต่อไป ในส่วนของเสื้อ ผ้าอาหารแห้งนั้น ตนได้ประสานขอความอนุเคราะห์ไปยังการบินไทยเพื่อให้ช่วยขนส่งสิ่งของเหล่านี้ไปมอบให้ผู้ประสบภัยด้วย อย่างไรก็ตามในช่วงค่ำของวันนี้ (30 เม.ย. 58) ทางชมรมชาวไทยเชื้อสายเนปาลจะจัดกิจกรรมเล่นดนตรีแบบเนปาลเพื่อรับบริจาคเงินขึ้นที่ซอยบางลา หาดป่าตองจังหวัดภูเก็ตด้วย ทั้งนี้ในวันนี้ (30 เม.ย. 58) นายนิสิต จันทร์สมวงศ์ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ตในฐานะผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ดำรงธรรมจังหวัดภูเก็ตได้ร่วมบริจาคเงินสด 10,000 บาทด้วย ทำให้ยอดเงินสดที่บริจาคผ่านศูนย์ดำรงธรรมจังหวัดภูเก็ตจนถึงขณะนี้มียอดกว่า 6 แสนบาท.
