นายถาวรวัฒน์ คงแก้ว ปลัด จังหวัดภูเก็ต กล่าวว่า กิจกรรม ส่งความสุขเทศกาลปีใหม่ 2560 รณรงค์สร้างความปลอดภัยในการใช้รถใช้ถนนภายใต้แคมเปญ Phuket Drink Don’t Drive (P3D) กำหนดจัดในวันพุธที่ 28 ธันวาคม 2559 โดยมีกิจกรรมอย่างหลากหลายเพื่อร่วมกันป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนนและทางทะเลและส่งความสุขแก่ประชาชนในช่วงเทศกาลปีใหม่ 2560 ซึ่ง จังหวัดภูเก็ตวางเป้าหมายลดจำนวนครั้งการเกิดอุบัติเหตุทางถนนทางทะเล โดยต้องลดผู้เสียชีวิตและบาดเจ็บ ให้น้อยลงที่สุดจากเทศกาลปีใหม่ 2559
