เมื่อวันที่ 19 ตุลาคม  2558  เวลา 13.30 น.  ที่ห้องประชุมสำนักงานท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาจังหวัดภูเก็ต ดร.ประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานการประชุมการจัดแข่งขันวิ่งมาราธอนภูเก็ต CW-X Marathon Circuit Queen’s Cup 2015-2016 โดยมีนายสันติ ป่าหวาย ผู้อำนวยการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาจังหวัดภูเก็ต พ.ต.อ. ธีระพล ทิพย์เจริญ รองผู้บังคับการตำรวจภูธรจังหวัดภูเก็ต หัวหน้าส่วนราชการ ภาคเอกชนที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วม

นายสันติ ป่าหวายกล่าวว่า จังหวัดภูเก็ตร่วมกับมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์และบริษัทแทคทีมสปอร์ต เรสซิ่งจำกัด จัดการแข่งขันภูเก็ต CW-X Marathon Circuit Queen’s Cup 2015-2016 ในวันอาทิตย์ที่ 25 ต.ค. 58 ณ สวนสาธารณะหนองหาน ต. กะรน อ. เมือง จ. ภูเก็ต โดยการจัดการแข่งขันครั้งนี้ เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติเนื่องในโอกาสวันมหามงคลเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา 5 ธันวามหาราชและเพื่อส่งเสริมกีฬา เพื่อการท่องเที่ยวตามนโยบายของรัฐบาล ที่สำคัญเป็นการสร้างภาพลักษณ์ที่ดีด้านการท่องเที่ยวของจังหวัดภูเก็ต

สำหรับประเภทการแข่งขันแบ่งออกเป็น 5 ประเภท ประกอบด้วยประเภทวิ่งมาราธอน ระยะทาง 42.195 กม. ชาย/หญิง วิ่งมาตรฐาน 32 กม. ชาย/หญิง วิ่ง 21.1 กม.ชาย/หญิง วิ่ง 10.50 กม.ชาย/หญิง และประเภทเดินวิ่งทีมครอบครัว 5.0 คนชาย/หญิง ทั้งนี้ผู้ที่สนใจสามารถสอบถามรายละเอียดและสมัครได้ที่เทศบาลตำบลกะรน และสำนักงานท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาจังหวัดภูเก็ต โทร. 076-217054
