เมื่อวันที่ 8 กันยายน  2559  เวลา 19.30 น. ที่ เวทีกลางสวนศรีภูวนาถ ตำบลวิชิต อำเภอเมืองภูเก็ต ดร.ประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดโครงการมหกรรมอาหารปลอดภัยและโภชนาการเพื่อสุขภาพ พร้อมด้วย นางสาวสมใจ สุวรรณศุภพนา นายกเทศมนตรีนครภูเก็ต นายกรีฑา โชติวิชญ์พิพัฒน์ นายกเทศมนตรีตำบลวิชิต นาย อรุณ โสฬส นายกเทศมนตรีตำบลราไวย์ นาย ทนง องค์สันติภาพ รองนายกเทศมนตรีตำบลฉลอง นายนิมิต เอกวานิช ประธานสภาเทศบาลตำบลวิชิต คณะผู้บริหารเทศบาลตำบลวิชิต สมาชิกสภาเทศบาลตำบลวิชิต หัวหน้าส่วนราชการ ประชาชนในพื้นที่ตำบลวิชิตและพื้นที่ใกล้เคียงเข้าร่วม

การจัดงาน มหกรรมอาหารปลอดภัยและโภชนาการเพื่อสุขภาพ เป็นการรวบรวมสถานประกอบการอาหารในพื้นที่ตำบลวิชิต มาร่วมจัดแสดงจำหน่ายอาหารเพื่อการประชาสัมพันธ์ สร้างภาพลักษณ์ และอำนวยความสะดวกให้กับผู้บริโภคในการเลือกซื้อสินค้า นำไปสู่การขยายช่องทางการตลาดและเป็นการสร้างรายได้ให้กับผู้ผลิตผู้ประกอบการอาหารทุกระดับ และยังได้รับความร่วมมือจากรัฐและเอกชนทั้งในพื้นที่ตำบลวิชิตและนอกพื้นที่ตำบลวิชิต อาทิ เช่น สาธารณสุขจังหวัดภูเก็ต โรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพตำบลวิชิต-บ้านแหลมชั่น อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้านตำบลวิชิต
