เมื่อวันที่ 14 สิงหาคม  2558  เวลา 10.30 น. ที่อาคารอเนกประสงค์ วิทยาลัยเทคนิคถลาง อำเภอถลาง จังหวัดภูเก็ต พระเจ้าวรวงศ์เธอ พระองค์เจ้าโสมสวลี พระวรราชาทินัดดามาตุ ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดให้ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. นายแพทย์พิชิต สุวรรณประกร รองประธานมูลนิธิอาสาเพื่อนพึ่ง (ภาฯ) ยามยาก สภากาชาดไทย เป็นผู้แทนพระองค์ ในการประกอบพิธีมอบถุงยังชีพพระราชทานให้แก่ราษฎรผู้ประสบภัยที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต

ในการนี้ผู้แทนพระองค์ฯ จุดธูปเทียน บูชาพระรัตนตรัย เปิดกระทงกรวยดอกไม้ ธูปเทียนแพ หน้าพระฉายาลักษณ์ พระเจ้าวรวงศ์เธอ พระองค์เจ้าโสมสวลี พระวรราชาทินัดดามาตุ โดยมีนายนิสิต จันทร์สมวงศ์ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต กล่าวรายงานสรุปสถานการณ์น้ำท่วม ต่อผู้แทนพระองค์ว่า สืบเนื่องจากมีฝนตกหนักต่อเนื่องในพื้นที่จังหวัดภูเก็ตส่งผลให้เกิดน้ำท่วมฉับพลัน ทำให้มีบ้านเรือนราษฎรและพื้นที่สาธารณะประโยชน์ได้รับความเสียหาย โดยมีราษฎรได้ความเดือดร้อน จำนวน 270 ครัวเรือน ประกอบด้วย ราษฎร หมู่ที่ 1 ตำบลสาคู /หมู่ที่ 6 ตำบลไม้ขาว /และหมู่ที่ 4 ตำบลเทพกระษัตรี จากนั้นผู้แทนพระองค์ฯ ประกอบพิธีอัญเชิญถุงยังชีพพระราชทานให้ผู้แทนจังหวัดภูเก็ต เพื่อ นำไปมอบต่อให้กับประชาชนผู้ประสบภัยในพื้นที่ จำนวน 500 ชุด ประกอบด้วย ผู้ว่าราชการ จังหวัดภูเก็ต /ผู้แทนข้าราชการทหาร /ผู้แทนข้าราชการตำรวจ พัฒนาการจังหวัดภูเก็ต /และ หัวหน้าสำนักงานป้องกันและบรรเทาสาธารณภัยจังหวัดภูเก็ต ผู้แทนพระองค์ฯ อัญเชิญถุงยังชีพพระราชทานถวายแด่พระภิกษุสงฆ์ จำนวน 5 ชุด อัญเชิญถุงยังชีพพระทานมอบแก่คนชรา และคนพิการจำนวน 50 ชุดต่อมาผู้แทนพระองค์ฯ ได้เดินทางไปเยี่ยมราษฎรผู้ประสบภัยและมอบถุงยังชีพพระราชทาน ในพื้นที่หมู่ที่ 1 ตำบลสาคู อำเภอถลาง จำนวน 3 ราย ประกอบด้วย นางจู แปลกฤทธิ์ /นายเชื่อม คงขาว และเด็กชายภูวดล เพชรรัตน์ สำหรับสถานการณ์น้ำท่วมในพื้นที่อำเภอถลางจังหวัดภูเก็ต นั้น ขณะนี้คลี่คลายแล้ว โดยหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเฝ้าระวังสถานการณ์ในพื้นที่อย่างต่อเนื่อง
