ทสจ.ภูเก็ต เดินหน้ารณรงค์ลดใช้ถุงพลาสติกในห้างสรรพสินค้า เป็นครั้งที่ 5 ในห้างโรบินสันภูเก็ต 
เมื่อวันที่15 มกราคม  2559  เวลา 13.30 น. ที่ห้างสรรพสินค้าโรบินสันสาขาภูเก็ตและท็อปส์มาร์เก็ตโรบินสันภูเก็ต ตำบลตลาดใหญ่ อำเภอเมืองภูเก็ต จังหวัดภูเก็ต นายจำเริญ ทิพญพงศ์ธาดา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธาน ในกิจกรรมรณรงค์ ลดการใช้ถุงพลาสติกในห้างสรรพสินค้าและห้างร้านครั้งที่ 5 โดยมี นายขจรเกียรติ รักพานิชมณี รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายเกษม สุขวารี ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมจังหวัดภูเก็ต หัวหน้าส่วนราชการที่เกี่ยวข้อง นักเรียนจากโรงเรียนเทศบาลบ้านบางเหนียวและเครือข่ายภาคประชาชน เข้าร่ว

นายเกษม สุขวารี กล่าวว่า การจัดกิจกรรมในวันนี้สืบเนื่องมาจากนโยบายในการจัดการขยะมูลฝอยและของเสียอันตรายของประเทศไทย จังหวัดภูเก็ตได้รับเลือกให้เป็นพื้นที่ต้นแบบในการจัดการขยะมูลฝอยของประเทศและจะมีองค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นและส่วนราชการต่าง ๆ เข้ามาศึกษาดูงานอย่างต่อเนื่องสำหรับการรณรงค์ลดการใช้ถุงพลาสติกเป็นนโยบายที่สำคัญอีกแห่งของรัฐบาลและจังหวัดภูเก็ตได้ตอบรับนโยบายสำคัญนี้ ได้มอบหมายให้สำนักงานทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมจังหวัดภูเก็ต สำนักงานพาณิชย์จังหวัดภูเก็ต สำนักงานพลังงานจังหวัดภูเก็ต ไปร่วมรณรงค์ชี้แจงทำความเข้าใจกับห้างสรรพสินค้าในห้างร้านทุกแห่งในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ซึ่งห้างสรรพสินค้าและห้างร้านทุกแห่งในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ยินดีให้ความร่วมมือและสนับสนุนนโยบายของรัฐบาลและจังหวัดภูเก็ต อย่างเต็มที่ จนนำไปสู่การลงนามในการบันทึกข้อตกลงความร่วมมือการลดใช้ถุงพลาสติกของห้างสรรพสินค้าในห้างร้านเมื่อวันพุธที่ 17 มิถุนายน 2558 และห้างสรรพสินค้าต่าง ๆ ต้องการให้ส่วนราชการได้รณรงค์ชี้แจงและทำความเข้าใจกับลูกค้าที่มาใช้บริการของห้าง ได้เกิดความเข้าใจและเพื่อป้องกันความเข้าใจผิดนำไปสู่ความขัดแย้งระหว่างพนักงานเก็บเงินกับผู้มาใช้บริการของห้าง ทั้งนี้กิจกรรมรณรงค์ประชาสัมพันธ์เรื่องการลดใช้ถุงพลาสติกในห้างสรรพสินค้าในห้างร้านขนาดใหญ่ ได้ดำเนินการแล้วเสร็จจำนวน 4 ครั้ง ประกอบด้วย ครั้งที่ 1 ห้างสรรพสินค้าเทสโก้โลตัส สาขาภูเก็ตและห้างสรรพสินค้าโฮมโปรเซ็นเตอร์ สาขาภูเก็ต ครั้งที่ 2 ห้างสรรพสินค้าบิ๊กซีซูเปอร์เซ็นเตอร์ สาขาภูเก็ต ครั้งที่ 3 ห้างสรรพสินค้าเซ็นทรัล สาขาภูเก็ต ครั้งที่ 4 ห้างสรรพสินค้าโอเชี่ยนชอปปิ้งมอลล์ สาขาภูเก็ตและครั้งที่ 5 ห้างสรรพสินค้าโรบินสันภูเก็ต สำหรับการจัดกิจกรรมรณรงค์ลดการใช้ถุงพลาสติกในห้างสรรพสินค้าในห้างร้านมีวัตถุประสงค์หลัก เพื่อชี้แจง ทำความเข้าใจกับประชาชนและผู้มาใช้บริการห้างสรรพสินค้าและห้างร้านในจังหวัดภูเก็ต 12 แห่งได้รับรู้รับทราบ และเข้าใจ ในนโยบายดังกล่าว เพื่อป้องกันการเข้าใจผิดระหว่างลูกค้ากับพนักงานของห้างซึ่งจะส่งผลต่อการประกอบกิจการของห้างสรรพสินค้าและห้างร้านได้ในอนาคต รวมไปถึงการสร้างความเข้าใจกับประชาชนและผู้มาใช้บริการในห้างสรรพสินค้าและห้างร้านในการปฏิเสธถุงพลาสติก เพื่อให้จังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวที่มีความสะอาด สวยงาม และยั่งยืนตลอดไป
