พ่อเมืองภูเก็ตสั่งการขนส่งจังหวัดกวดขันรถโดยสารสาธารณะ รถแท็กซี่ ไม่ให้มีการติดตั้งมิเตอร์ค่าโดยสาร 2 มิเตอร์โดยเด็ดขาด หากพบการกระทำผิดให้ดำเนินคดีตามกฎหมาย

เมื่อวันที่ 27 ธันวาคม 2559 เวลา 09.10 น.ที่ห้องประชุมอาคารคอซิมบี้ ศาลากลางจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายโชคชัย เดชอมรธัญ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานการประชุมคณะกรมการจังหวัดภูเก็ตและหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องครั้งที่ 12/2559 โดยมีนายสนิท ศรีวิหค, นายธีระ อนันตเสรีวิทยาและนางศิวพร ฉั่วสวัสดิ์ รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต ,นายถาวรวัฒน์ คงแก้ว ปลัดจังหวัดภูเก็ต, นายศรัณยู เสมา หัวหน้าสำนักงานจังหวัดภูเก็ตและหัวหน้าส่วนราชการ, ผู้แทนองค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นและผู้แทนเอกชน เข้าร่วมประชุม ทั้งนี้ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต ได้ติดตามความคืบหน้า การแก้ปัญหา เรื่องการร้องเรียนการเก็บค่าแท็กซี่แพง

นายสมหมาย สุดขาว ขนส่งจังหวัดภูเก็ตกล่าวรายงานรายละเอียดดังกล่าวว่า ตามที่ได้มี เรื่องร้องเรียน การเก็บค่าแท็กซี่แพง สำนักงานขนส่งจังหวัดภูเก็ตได้ดำเนินการแก้ปัญหาโดยลงพื้นที่ไปตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริง และดำเนินการบริหารจัดการรถโดยสารสาธารณะ โดยเฉพาะรถแท็กซี่ ในพื้นที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต จากการตรวจสอบยังไม่พบมีการติดตั้งมิเตอร์จำนวน 2 มิเตอร์ ในรถโดยสารสาธารณะ(รถแท็กซี่) สำหรับในกรณีที่มีการ ทิ้งผู้โดยสารเนื่องจากมีความขัดแย้ง เรื่องค่าโดยสารได้มีการดำเนินการเปรียบเทียบปรับกับผู้ขับขี่รถแท็กซี่เป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว นอกจากนี้ในช่วงเทศกาลปีใหม่สำนักงานขนส่งจังหวัดจะนำระบบการติดตามรถโดยสารสาธารณะด้วยระบบ gps เพื่อตรวจสอบความเร็วและการกระทำผิดกฎหมายจราจรต่างๆด้วย

สำหรับในเรื่องนี้ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดกล่าว มอบนโยบาย ว่าขอให้หน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องโดยเฉพาะขนส่งจังหวัดจะต้องกวดขันไม่ให้มีการติดตั้งมิเตอร์ค่าโดยสาร 2 meter โดยเด็ดขาดหากพบการกระทำผิดให้ดำเนินคดีตามกฎหมาย และขอให้สำนักงานขนส่งจังหวัดภูเก็ตตรวจสอบสมรรถนะของรถโดยสารสาธารณะที่มาให้บริการประชาชนและนักท่องเที่ยวในจังหวัดภูเก็ตให้มีสภาพพร้อมใช้งานโดยเฉพาะระบบเบรก,ระบบสัญญาณไฟ เนื่องจากพื้นที่ของจังหวัดภูเก็ต มีถนนที่มีความลาดชันสูง ดังนั้นหากรถมีความเก่าและไม่มีสมรรถนะที่ดีอาจเป็นสาเหตุทำให้เกิดอุบัติเหตุบนท้องถนนได้ง่าย
