จังหวัดภูเก็ตจัดพิธีถวายราชสักการะเนื่องในวันที่ระลึกมหาจักรีบรมราชวงศ์
เมื่อวันที่ 6 เมษายน 2559 เวลา 09.00 น. ที่หอประชุมมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏภูเก็ต อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดภูเก็ต นายจำเริญ ทิพญพงศ์ธาดา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานวางพานพุ่มดอกไม้สดสักการะหน้าพระบรมสาทิสลักษณ์พระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกมหาราช พร้อมด้วยเหล่าข้าราชการ ทหาร ตำรวจ พ่อค้าและประชาชนเข้าร่วมพิธี
ทั้งนี้ การจัดพิธีดังกล่าวเพื่อเป็นการแสดงความกตัญญูกตเวทิตาธรรมต่อพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกมหาราช องค์ปฐมบรมราชวงศ์จักรี ที่ทรงปกครองบ้านเมืองให้ประชาชนได้อยู่ดีมีสุขตลอดมา ซึ่งในวันที่ 6 เมษายน ของทุกปีถือเป็นวันที่
ระลึกมหาจักรี หรือที่เรียกกันโดยย่อว่า วันจักรีซึ่งหมายถึงวันที่ระลึกถึงพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกมหาราชเสด็จปราบดาภิเษกขึ้นครองราชย์เป็นกษัตริย์แห่งราชวงศ์จักรี และทรงสร้างกรุงเทพมหานคร เป็นเมืองหลวงของไทย และได้มีการจัดงานพิธีวันที่ระลึกมหาจักรีฯ มาตั้งแต่สมัยรัชกาลที่ 6 หรือ ตั้งแต่ปี 2461เป็นประเพณีสืบต่อมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน
