เมื่อวันที่ 19 เมษายน  2559  นายชนวีร์เอก เตี่ยวสกุล นายกสมาคมบัสนำเที่ยวอันดามัน พร้อมด้วยผู้ประกอบการนำรถบัสมากว่า 50 คัน รวมตัวกันที่สนามชัยหน้าศาลากลางจังหวัดภูเก็ตเพื่อยื่นข้อเรียกร้องให้ทางจังหวัดเข้ามาช่วยเหลือกรณีมีผู้ประกอบการการ บริษัททัวร์นำรถจากภายนอกนอกเข้ามาใช้วิ่งในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ทำให้กลุ่มผู้ประกอบการรถบัสในจังหวัดภูเก็ตไม่มีงานได้รับความเดือดร้อน

นายชนวีร์เอก เตี่ยวสกุล นายกสมาคมบัสนำเที่ยวอันดามัน กล่าวว่าปัจจุบันนี้ประชาชนชาวภูเก็ตมีอาชีพจัดรถบัสบริการนักท่องเที่ยวชาวต่างชาติมาเป็นเวลานาน โดยแต่ละคนมีรถบัสเป็นของตนเองคนละ 2-3 คัน แต่เมื่อรัฐบาลไทยเข้าเป็นสมาชิก AEC มีชาวต่างชาติเข้าเที่ยวเมืองไทยเป็นจำนวนมากทำให้ผู้มีอาชีพเอเยนซี่ร่วมมือกับบริษัททัวร์ในจังหวัดภูเก็ตได้นำรถบัสไปที่อื่นเช่น ภาคกลาง ภาคเหนือ และภาคอีสาน ดำเนินธุรกิจแย่งอาชีพของคนภูเก็ตจนทำให้ผู้ประกอบการในภูเก็ตเดือดร้อน ไม่มีงานมีรายได้ไม่พอเลี้ยงดูครอบครัวมีภาระหนี้สินประสบปัญหาการดำเนินชีวิตอย่างมาก นอกจากนั้นกลุ่มคนภูเก็ตกลุ่มหนึ่งได้สร้างปัญหาให้กับผู้ประกอบการรถบัสชาวภูเก็ตโดยไปจัดตั้งสมาคมธุรกิจท่องเที่ยวอันดามันและไปนำออกรถจากพื้นที่ทางภาคอีสานเข้ามาร่วมกับสมาคมธุรกิจท่องเที่ยวอันดามันและมาแย่งหมายอาชีพคนท้องถิ่นซึ่งเป็นการสร้างปัญหาความเดือดร้อนซ้ำเติมให้กับคนในท้องถิ่นมากยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งในวันนี้สมาคมบัสนำเที่ยวอันดามันตระหนักถึงปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในอนาคตเกี่ยวกับอาชีพรับจ้างบริการนักท่องเที่ยวจะต้องมีขั้นตอนในการประกอบอาชีพของคนท้องถิ่นอย่างแน่นอน ทางผู้ประกอบการจึงประสงค์ขอความอนุเคราะห์ให้ทางจังหวัดกรุณาแก้ปัญหาความเดือดร้อนของชาวภูเก็ต โดยขอให้มีการพิจารณาดำเนินการดังนี้ คือให้สั่งการให้องค์กรที่เกี่ยวข้องกับปัญหาความเดือดร้อนของชาวภูเก็ตทั้งส่วนราชการและเอกชนมาประชุมร่วมกัน ซึ่งองค์กรดังกล่าวได้แก่ ผู้บัญชาการกองทัพเรือภาคที่ 3 การท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาจังหวัดภูเก็ตสำนักงานขนส่งจังหวัดภูเก็ต สมาคมบัสนำเที่ยวอันดามัน เอเยนซี่ทัวร์และบริษัททัวร์ในจังหวัดภูเก็ต และรถบัสที่เข้ามาวิ่งงานกับบริษัททัวร์ต้องเป็นสมาชิกของสมาคมบัสนำเที่ยวอันดามัน เพื่อสมาคมฯ จะได้ควบคุมกำหนดกฎระเบียบกฎกติกามารยาทให้เป็นมาตรฐานสากลเพื่อสร้างมาตรฐานในการให้บริการท่องเที่ยวซึ่งเป็นการสร้างชื่อเสียงของประเทศจึงให้มีการพิจารณาอนุเคราะห์ให้ความเป็นธรรมแก่ผู้ประกอบการรถบัสรับจ้างบริการนักท่องเที่ยวในจังหวัดภูเก็ตที่ถูกแย่งอาชีพด้วย.

อย่างไรก็ตามในเวลา 14.00 น.วันเดียวกันนายขจรเกียรติ รักพานิชมณี รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต พร้อมด้วยนายจตุรงค์ แก้วกสิ ผู้ช่วยขนส่งจังหวัดภูเก็ตเดินทางเข้าพูดคุยพร้อมรับหนังสือจากกลุ่มผู้ประกอบการรถบัสอันดามันที่สนามชัย โดยภายหลังรับหนังสือ นายจตุรงค์ แก้วกสิ ระบุว่า ทางขนส่งจังหวัดจะรับหน้าที่นำข้อเสนอที่ทางสมาคมรถบัสอันดามันยื่นมาไปร่างใหม่ให้แล้วเสร็จภายในวันจันทร์ที่ 25 เมษายนนี้ เพื่อส่งมอบให้ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ตลงนามหลังจากนั้นจะส่งหนังสือฉบับดังกล่าวไปยังอธิบดีกรมการขนส่งทางบกว่าจะดำเนินการตามข้อเสนอได้ทั้งหมดหรือไม่อย่างไรโดยระหว่างรอทางอธิบดีพิจารณานั้นทางตนและนายกสมารถบัสอันดามันจะเป็นผู้ติดตามความคืบหน้า ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้ผลที่ออกมาเป็นที่พอใจของทุกฝ่ายและไม่กระทบกับนักท่องเที่ยวและผู้ประกอบการด้านการท่องเที่ยวในจังหวัดภูเก็ต.
