รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัด ภูเก็ต ย้ำหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเร่งติดตั้งกล้อง CCTV ให้ครอบคลุมพื้นที่ พร้อมกำชับเข้มเจ้าหน้าที่อยู่ประจำจุดตรวจตลอดเวลาเพื่อทันต่อสถานการณ์ที่อาจเกิดขึ้นสรุปผล 3 วันที่ผ่านมา มีการยึดรถเมาแล้วขับ สูงถึง 59 คัน ยังไม่มีผู้เสียชีวิต

เมื่อวันที่ 14 เมษายน  2559 ที่ศูนย์ป้องกันและบรรเทาสาธารณภัยเขต 18 ภูเก็ต นายประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานการประชุมสรุปผลการดำเนินการป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนนและทางทะเล ช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ปี 2559 โดยมี นายศิริศักดิ์ สกุลโสรัจจะ หัวหน้าสำนักงานป้องกันและบรรเทาสาธารณภัยจังหวัดภูเก็ต หัวหน้าส่วนราชการ และหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วม

ผลการดำเนินการป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนนและทางทะเลช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ปี 2559 วันที่สามของเทศกาล 13 เมษายน ที่ผ่านมามีอุบัติเหตุทางถนนเกิดขึ้นรวม 13 ครั้ง มีผู้บาดเจ็บ รวม 16 คน พฤติกรรมเสี่ยงและสาเหตุสูงสุด เกิดจากการเมาสุรา 7 ครั้ง และขับรถเร็วเกินกำหนด 2 ครั้ง ส่วนประเภทยานพาหนะที่เกิดอุบัติเหตุสูงสุด ได้แก่ มอเตอร์ไซค์ 12 ครั้ง ส่วนการดำเนินการยึดรถ ตามคำสั่งหัวหน้าคณะ รักษาความสงบแห่งชาติ ที่ 46/ 2558 มีการยึดรถผู้เมาแล้วขับ จำนวน 59 คัน เป็นรถยนต์ส่วนบุคคล 9 คัน และรถจักรยานยนต์ 50 คัน
ในส่วนของการดำเนินการป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางทะเล ยังไม่มีอุบัติเหตุเกิดขึ้น ขณะเจ้าท่าภูมิภาคสาขาภูเก็ต และตำรวจน้ำ รวมถึงเจ้าหน้าที่ที่เกี่ยวข้องยังคงปฏิบัติหน้าที่ควบคุมตรวจสอบคนเรือ และเรือโดยสารอย่างต่อเนื่อง ตามมาตรการที่กฎหมายกำหนด โดยเรือจะต้องไม่บรรทุกน้ำหนักเกิน และผู้โดยสารจะต้องสวมเสื้อชูชีพ

นายประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต สั่งการให้เจ้าท่าภูมิภาคสาขาภูเก็ต และหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง ตรวจเข้มและดูแลความปลอดภัย พร้อมอำนวยความสะดวกในท่าเรือที่มีจำนวนเรือ และปริมาณนักท่องเที่ยวจำนวนมาก พร้อมกำชับเจ้าหน้าที่อยู่ประจำจุดตรวจตลอดเวลา เพื่อทันต่อสถานการณ์ที่อาจเกิดขึ้น นอกจากนี้ยังกำชับให้เจ้าท่าภูมิภาคสาขาภูเก็ต เร่งดำเนินการติดตั้งกล้อง CCTV ให้ครบทุกท่าเรือ ด้วย ส่วนการรณรงค์ป้องกันอุบัติเหตุทางบก ย้ำให้ตรวจเข้มในผู้ขับขี่รถทุกประเภท โดยเฉพาะรถจักรยานยนต์ ให้ผู้ขับขี่สวมหมวกนิรภัยทุกครั้ง และปฏิบัติตามกฎจราจรอย่างเคร่งครัด .
