กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา จัดกิจกรรมพัฒนาบุคคลากรเพื่อสร้างมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยด้านการท่องเที่ยว เพื่อยกระดับมาตรฐานบุคลากรในการดูแลความปลอดภัย สร้างความมั่นใจแก่นักท่องเที่ยว
เมื่อวันที่ 24 มิถุนายน  2559  เวลา 09.00 น. ที่ห้องแกรนด์บอลรูม 2 โรงแรมรอยัล ภูเก็ตซิตี้ จังหวัดภูเก็ต นายพงษ์ภาณุ เศวตรุนทร์ ปลัดกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา เป็นประธานเปิดโครงการประสานความร่วมมือระหว่างหน่วยงานเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหานักท่องเที่ยว กิจกรรมพัฒนาบุคคลากรเพื่อสร้างมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยด้านการท่องเที่ยว ซึ่งกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา โดยสำนักมาตรฐานและกำกับความปลอดภัยนักท่องเที่ยว จัดขึ้น ซึ่งมีนางอุไรรัตน์ เนาถาวร ผู้อำนวยการ สำนักมาตรฐานและกำกับความปลอดภัยนักท่องเที่ยว รักษาการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาจังหวัดภูเก็ต พร้อม กลุ่มเป้าหมายที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้ ประกอบด้วย ผู้บริหาร พนักงานโรงแรม พนักงานรักษาความปลอดภัย รวมถึงหน่วยงานภาครัฐที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการดูแลด้านความปลอดภัยของนักท่องเที่ยว ในพื้นที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต จำนวน 150 คน เข้าร่วม โดยมีนายโชคดี อมรวัฒน์ รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ตให้การต้อนรับ

การจัดกิจกรรมพัฒนาบุคคลากรเพื่อสร้างมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยด้านการท่องเที่ยวในครั้งนี้ สืบเนื่องจากเหตุระเบิดบริเวณศาลพระพรหมเอราวัณ ณ ราชประสงค์ ซึ่งมีผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บ และมีผู้เสียชีวิตจากเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวทำให้สมาคมโรงแรมไทยตระหนักถึงความสำคัญ และนำเสนอให้มีการจัดอบรมให้มีความรู้แก่บุคลากร เจ้าหน้าที่ในโรงแรมเพื่อคอยระวังสังเกตุและรับมือกับสานการณ์ต่างที่อาจเกิดขึ้น

ดังนั้น เพื่อเป็นการส่งเสริมให้เกิดความเชื่อมั่นในความปลอดภัย กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา ได้เล็งเห็นความสำคัญของการสร้างเครือข่ายผู้ประกอบการโรงแรม เพื่อสร้างการรับรู้ ความเข้าใจ ความร่วมมือและการประสานกันได้สะดวกมากยิ่งขึ้น จึงได้ดำเนินการจัดกิจกรรมพัฒนาบุคลากรเพื่อสร้างมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยด้านการท่องเที่ยวในครั้งนี้ขึ้น เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมเจ้าหน้าที่ทั้งภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน โดยเฉพาะผู้ประกอบการธุรกิจโรงแรม และเจ้าหน้าที่ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับความปลอดภัยนักท่องเที่ยว ให้มีทัศนคติ ความรู้ การสังเกต การเฝ้าระวัง การป้องกัน และมีความสามรรถแก้ไขปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นเบื้องต้นให้กับนักท่องเที่ยวได้ เป็นการสร้างกลไกการเฝ้าระวังและการป้องกันภัยที่อาจส่งผลกระทบต่อนักท่องเที่ยว อันนำไปสู่การส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์ด้านมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยนักท่องเที่ยว และสร้างความมั่นใจให้กับนักท่องเที่ยวทั้งชาวไทยและต่างชาติ เกิดความประทับใจในการเดินทางมาท่องเที่ยวประเทศไทย และมีความต้องการอยากกลับมาเที่ยวซ้ำในโอกาสต่อไป เป็นการสร้างรายได้จากการท่องเที่ยวได้อย่างต่อเนื่อง

สำหรับ กิจกรรมดังกล่าว กำหนดจัดขึ้นในพื้นที่ 5 จังหวัด ประกอบด้วย กรุงเทพมหานคร ชลบุรี เชียงใหม่ ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ และจังหวัดภูเก็ต
