ผศ.ดร.ประภา กาหยี นำคณะผู้บริหาร คณบดี คณาจารย์ และบุคลากรทุกระดับรวมกว่าพันคน ร่วมงานเลี้ยงปีใหม่ ในชื่องาน “สังสรรค์ สามัคคี สุขี ปีมะแม 2558”มีการจัดเลี้ยงอาหาร ขนม เครื่องดื่ม แบบจัดเต็มพร้อมจับของรางวัลสมนาคุณแบบนอนสต็อป จำนวนหลายร้อยรางวัลสำหรับรางวัลใหญ่สุดเป็นทีวี LED Toshibaขนาด 32 นิ้ว โดยผู้โชคดีได้รับรางวัล คือนางสาวจุรีรัตน์ ว่องปลูกศิษย์ เจ้าหน้าที่งานการเงินและรายได้ ต่อจากนั้นได้มีการแสดงจากเด็กๆ ฝ่ายปฐมวัย ม.ราชภัฏภูเก็ต และการฉายวีดีโอพรีเซนเทชั่นประมวลช่วงเวลาแห่งความทรงจำ จากกิจกรรมในช่วงปีที่ผ่านมา สร้างรอยยิ้ม และเสียงหัวเราะ จากผู้เข้าร่วมงาน พร้อมปิดท้ายด้วยการร่วมขับร้องเพลง สุขสันต์ปีใหม่ ปิดท้ายค่ำคืนแห่งความสุขของชาวแสดดำ กิจกรรมจัดขึ้น ณ หอประชุม ม.ราชภัฏภูเก็ต เมื่อวันที่ 7 ม.ค.58

และในช่วงเช้าของวันเดียวกัน มหาวิทยาลัยได้จัดพิธีทำบุญตักบาตร ข้าวสารอาหารแห้ง เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล เนื่องในโอกาสขึ้นปีใหม่ พ.ศ. 2558 โดยมี คณะผู้บริหาร คณบดี คณาจารย์ บุคลากร และนักศึกษา เข้าร่วมอย่างเนืองแน่น ณ วงเวียนภิรมย์รัตน์ ซึ่งการจัดงานในครั้งนี้ทางมหาวิทยาลัย ได้ทำการนิมนต์พระสงฆ์จำนวน 19 รูป จากวัดอนุภาษกฤษฎาราม (วัดเก็ตโฮ่) นำโดย พระครูวิชิตสังฆไพโรจน์ เจ้าคณะตำบลกะทู้ และเจ้าอาวาสวัดเก็ตโฮ่ เป็นผู้นำการประกอบพิธีสงฆ์ และกล่าวคำอวยพร พร้อมให้โอวาทธรรม หลังจากนั้นจึงได้ออกรับบิณฑบาตข้าวสารอาหารแห้ง จากผู้เข้าร่วมพิธี นับเป็นการเริ่มต้นปีใหม่ของชาวแสดดำอย่างอิ่มบุญสุขใจ
