เมื่อวันที่ 4 มิถุนายน  2559  เวลา 13.30 น. ที่ห้องประชุมสำนักงานพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ อำเภอเมือง ศาลากลางจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานการประชุมคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมงานอาสาสมัครพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์จังหวัดภูเก็ต ครั้งที่ 2/2559 เพื่อพิจารณาคัดเลือกองค์กรที่มีกิจกรรมทางสังคมดีเด่น ประจำปี 2559 โดยมี นางพิมพร ขอศานติวิชัย พัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์จังหวัดภูเก็ต ตลอดจนผู้แทนและหัวหน้าส่วนราชการคณะกรรมการอาสาสมัครพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ จังหวัดภูเก็ต เข้าร่วม

การเสนอชื่อองค์กรที่มีกิจกรรมทางสังคมดีเด่น 5 ประเภท ตามที่กรมพัฒนาสังคมและสวัสดิการ ขอความร่วมมือจังหวัดเสนอชื่อองค์กรที่มีกิจกรรมทางสังคมดีเด่น 5 องค์กร ประกอบด้วยหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ได้แก่ ส่วนราชการทั่วไป องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น องค์กรสาธารณประโยชน์องค์กรสวัสดิการชุมชน และองค์กรธุรกิจ เพื่อนำไปเสนอให้คณะทำงานกลั่นกรององค์กรที่มีกิจกรรมทางสังคมดีเด่นพิจารณาคัดเลือกองค์กรที่มีกิจกรรมทางสังคมดีเด่นประจำปี 2559 เนื่องในวันสงคมสงเคราะห์แห่งชาติและวันอาสาสมัครไทย ภายในวันที่ 15 กรกฎาคม 2559

สำหรับผลการเสนอชื่อองค์กรที่มีกิจกรรมทางสังคมดีเด่น ประจำปี 2559 จังหวัดภูเก็ต 5 องค์กรได้แก่ หน่วยงานภาครัฐ ได้รับการคัดเลือกคือ เรือนจำจังหวัดภูเก็ต สำนักงานคุมประพฤติจังหวัดภูเก็ต องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น ได้แก่ อบต.ไม้ขาว และ อบต.กมลา องค์กรสาธารณประโยชน์ได้แก่ มูลนิธิกุศลธรรม และสมาคมสโมสรไลออนส์ภูเก็ต องค์กรสวัสดิการชุมชน ได้แก่ กองทุนสวัสดิการชุมชนตำบลราไวย์และกองทุนสวัสดิการชุมชนตำบลป่าคลอก ส่วนองค์กรธุรกิจ คณะกรรมการไม่มีการเสนอชื่อ โดยหลังจากนี้ฝ่ายเลขานุการจะแจ้งไปยังองค์กรที่ได้รับการเสนอชื่อดังกล่าวเพื่อเตรียมข้อมูลนำไปเสนอคณะทำงานกลั่นกรององค์กรที่มีกิจกรรมทางสังคมดีเด่นพิจารณาคัดเลือกองค์กรที่มีกิจกรรมทางสังคมดีเด่นประจำปี 2559 เนื่องในวันสงคมสงเคราะห์แห่งชาติและวันอาสาสมัครไทย ภายในวันที่ 15 กรกฎาคม 2559 ต่อไป
