เมื่อวันที่ 20 เมษายน 2559 เวลา 13.30 น. ที่ห้องประชุมสำนักงานพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์จังหวัดภูเก็ต ดร.ประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานในการประชุมคณะอนุกรรมการส่งเสริมและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตคนพิการประจำจังหวัดภูเก็ต ครั้งที่ 1/2559 โดยมี นางพิมพร ขอศานติวิชัย พัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์จังหวัดภูเก็ต นายสุทธิพงศ์ สายสาคเรศ แรงงานจังหวัดภูเก็ต และหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วม
วาระที่สำคัญในการประชุมครั้งนี้ว่าด้วยเรื่องโครงการที่ขอรับการสนับสนุนจากกองทุน ส่งเสริมและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตคนพิการจำนวน 1 โครงการ ศูนย์การศึกษาพิเศษประจำจังหวัดภูเก็ต ได้เสนอโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้สำหรับเด็กพิการที่รับบริการที่บ้าน เพื่อจัดการศึกษาสำหรับเด็กพิการ โดยการให้บริการช่วยเหลือระยะแรกเริ่ม และเตรียมความพร้อมเด็กพิการให้เด็กพิการวัยเรียนทุกคนในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ได้รับการศึกษาอย่างทั่วถึง และเต็มศักยภาพตามประเภท และสภาพความพิการ และเพิ่มหรือขยายโอกาสทางการศึกษาให้กับเด็กพิการเด็กพิเศษ ในจังหวัดภูเก็ต กลุ่มเป้าหมายผู้ปกครองผู้ดูแลคนพิการที่รับบริการที่บ้าน คณะทำงานและผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องจำนวน 80 คนระยะเวลาดำเนินโครงการ 1 วัน งบประมาณ 63,600 (หกหมื่นสามพันหกร้อยบาทถ้วน) ซึ่งที่ประชุมได้มีมติเห็นชอบให้มีการดำเนินโครงการต่อไป และการพิจารณาคนพิการกู้ยืมเงินกองทุนส่งเสริมและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิต สำนักงานพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์จังหวัดภูเก็ต ได้รับคำร้องจากคนพิการและผู้ดูแลคนพิการที่ประสบปัญหาความเดือดร้อนครอบครัวมีฐานะยากจนขาดแคลนเงินลงทุนในการประกอบอาชีพ ยื่นหนังสือขอกู้ยืมจากกองทุนส่งเสริมและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตคนพิการ เพื่อเป็นเงินทุนในการเริ่มต้นประกอบอาชีพและขยายกิจการจำนวน 7 รายเป็นเงิน 260,940 บาท (สองแสนหกหมื่นเก้าร้อยสี่สิบบาทถ้วน)
