เมื่อวันที่ 19 มีนาคม 2558 เวลา 14.00 น. นายสาโรจน์ อังคณาพิลาส สมาชิกสภาองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดภูเก็ต พร้อมด้วย นายบุญอุ้ม เอื้อจิตตระกูล สมาชิกสภา อบจ. ภูเก็ต นายแพทย์หรินารถ หัทยาภิรมย์ แพทย์โรงพยาบาล อบจ.ภูเก็ต รวมถึงเจ้าหน้าที่กองสาธารณสุข อบจ.ภูเก็ต พยาบาล นักกายภาพบำบัดจากโรงพยาบาล อบจ.ภูเก็ต และเจ้าหน้าที่ศูนย์บริหารสาธารณสุข 2 เทศบาลนครภูเก็ต และอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขตำบลตลาดใหญ่ ได้ลงพื้นที่ออกเยี่ยมผู้ป่วยเรื้อรังและผู้พิการที่บ้าน ประจำเดือนมีนาคม 2558 ในเขตพื้นที่ตำบลตลาดใหญ่ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดภูเก็ต ซึ่งการลงพื้นที่ในครั้งนี้ ทาง อบจ.ภูเก็ต ได้มอบชุดของเยี่ยม อาทิ ผ้าอ้อม แป้ง สบู่ ผ้าเช็ดตัว ฯลฯ ให้แก่ผู้ป่วย จำนวน 7 ราย

สำหรับโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ เป็นโครงการที่จัดตั้งขึ้นโดยองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดภูเก็ต และอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขประจำหมู่บ้าน เพื่อดูแลช่วยเหลือผู้ป่วยเรื้อรัง และผู้พิการในจังหวัดภูเก็ต โดยการสร้างเครือข่ายอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขใกล้บ้านให้เข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลช่วยเหลือผู้ป่วยเรื้อรังและผู้พิการในชุมชน เพื่อช่วยให้ผู้ป่วยและครอบครัวมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีและสามารถดูแลตัวเองได้ ซึ่งการเยี่ยมผู้ป่วยโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ เขตพื้นที่ตำบลตลาดใหญ่ ในครั้งนี้ ได้เห็นถึงการดูแล และการแบ่งปันความรักของคนในครอบครัวของผู้ป่วยที่คอยดูแลเอาใจใส่อย่างใกล้ชิด ทำให้ผู้ป่วยมีกำลังใจในการต่อสู้ที่ทำให้ตนเองมีอาการดีขึ้นและไม่ย่อท้อต่ออุปสรรค เพื่อสร้างจิตสำนึกให้มีความเอื้ออาทรกับชุมชน และสร้างคุณธรรมให้เกิดขึ้นภายในชุมชน ดังนั้น ในกรณีพบเห็นผู้พิการหรือผู้ป่วยติดเตียงเรื้อรัง สามารถติดต่อกองสาธารณสุข อบจ.ภูเก็ต หมายเลขโทรศัพท์ 076-354-819 หรือ 076-354-820.
