จากการดำเนินงานโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ขององค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดภูเก็ต ภายใต้การบริหารงานโดย นายไพบูลย์ อุปัติศฤงค์ นายกองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดภูเก็ต ที่มีนโยบายการสาธารณสุขเชิงรุก เพื่อช่วยเหลือผู้ป่วยเรื้อรังและผู้พิการที่บ้าน รวมทั้งส่งเสริมให้ผู้ป่วยเรื้อรังและครอบครัวมีความรู้ ความเข้าใจ สามารถดูแลตนเองได้อย่างมีความสุข ทำให้ผู้ป่วยหลายคนซึ่งเคยนอนติดเตียง ได้รับการดูแลรักษาและฟื้นฟูจิตใจกลับมาต่อสู้กับชีวิตได้อีกครั้ง

นายวรพล ชื่นใจ หรือ “แจ็ค” ชายหนุ่มวัย 34 ปี หนึ่งในผู้ป่วยที่เคยนอนติดเตียงโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ เขตพื้นที่ตำบลกะทู้ อำเภอกะทู้ จังหวัดภูเก็ต ซึ่งประสบอุบัติเหตุรถจักรยานยนต์เมื่อ 5 ปีก่อน ทำให้กระดูกสันหลังแตก เป็นแผลกดทับ ต้องกลายเป็นคนพิการ อยู่โรงพยาบาลและนอนติดเตียงมา 3 ปีกว่า หมดความหวังในการรักษา และเกิดความท้อแท้ในชีวิต เมื่อมีโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์เข้ามาช่วยเหลือ ทำให้ชีวิตดีขึ้นตามลำดับ สามารถลุกขึ้นนั่งได้ จนปัจจุบันได้มีอาชีพขายกล้วยฉาบ โดยขับรถสามล้อพ่วงข้างมาขายอยู่ที่บริเวณวัดกะทู้ ทั้งนี้ เขาจะนำกล้วยฉาบผลิตภัณฑ์ของแม่และของแม่บ้านในพื้นที่ตำบลกะทู้มาขายตั้งแต่เวลา 08.00-14.00 น. ซึ่งขายหมดไม่ต่ำกว่าวันละ 300 ห่อ

นายวรพล เล่าว่า “โครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ ได้เข้ามาช่วยเหลือคนพิการที่นอนติดเตียง ในกรณีที่ต้องเปลี่ยนผ้าอ้อม ก็จะมีผ้าอ้อมมาให้ มีแพทย์พยาบาล คอยดูแลรักษาแผลกดทับ และคอยดูแลทางด้านจิตใจ จึงอยากขอบคุณท่านไพบูลย์ อุปัติศฤงค์ นายก อบจ.ภูเก็ต ซึ่งครั้งแรกท่านได้ลงพื้นที่นำคณะมาเยี่ยม พร้อมกับให้กำลังใจว่า “ถ้าล้มลงแล้ว เราต้องสู้ สักวันหนึ่งต้องเป็นของเรา” นี่คือคำพูดของท่านนายกฯ ที่ผมไม่เคยลืม ทำให้คนพิการที่นอนติดเตียงเช่นผมได้มีกำลังใจลุกขึ้นมานั่งได้ และมีอาชีพในวันนี้ได้อีกครั้ง นอกจากนี้ ท่านนายกฯ ได้ส่งเสริมอาชีพให้ด้วย โดยได้ประสานงานกับทางเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจทุ่งทอง เพื่อขอใช้สถานที่ คอยดูแลความเรียบร้อย และปรับพื้นที่ให้ผมได้นั่งขายของ หลังจากที่ผมฝึกนั่งได้แล้ว ก็เข้ารับการผ่าตัด โดยได้รับการดูแลจากกลุ่มอาสาของชุมชน เจ้าหน้าที่ อสม. สภากาชาด รวมถึงได้รับรถเข็นพระราชทาน ในพระนามาภิไธย สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ได้รับความช่วยเหลือจากสโมสรโรตารี่ สโมสรไลออนส์ มูลนิธิเพื่อนแคร์ ตลอดจนเจ้าหน้าที่จากทุกหน่วยงาน จนกระทั่งในวันนี้ผมได้มาขายกล้วยฉาบอยู่ที่วัดกะทู้ และขณะนี้กล้วยฉาบก็โด่งดังไปถึงประเทศจีนแล้ว มีออเดอร์สั่งเข้ามาครั้งละหลายพันห่อ

สำหรับผู้พิการคนอื่นๆ ขอให้อย่าท้อแท้ต่อชีวิต ในเมื่อเรามีวันล้ม สักวันก็ต้องลุกขึ้นได้ อยากจะให้คนพิการทุกคนดูผมเป็นตัวอย่าง ขอให้สู้ ไม่มีใครทิ้งท่านแน่นอน แม้กระทั่งทางโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ เขาจะดูแลท่านต่อไปเป็นอย่างดี หากท่านใดที่อยากติดต่อกับนายก อบจ.ภูเก็ต แต่ไม่ทราบว่าจะติดต่ออย่างไร ให้เข้าไปที่เฟสบุ๊ค Paiboon Upatising ก็จะสามารถพูดคุยกับนายก อบจ.ภูเก็ต ได้ นอกจากนี้ สามารถติดต่อกองสาธารณสุข อบจ.ภูเก็ต หมายเลขโทรศัพท์ 076-354-819 หรือ 076-354-820 ในเวลาราชการ

ทางด้าน นางชัญญา ชื่นใจ มารดาของนายวรพล เล่าว่า ตั้งแต่ลูกชายประสบอุบัติเหตุ ต้องพักรักษาตัวอยู่โรงพยาบาลในช่วง 3 ปีแรก ตนก็ต้องไปเฝ้าไข้ ทำให้รายได้ที่เคยมีจากการทำขนมขายก็หยุดชะงัก ต่อมาก็เรียนรู้วิธีการดูแลแผลกดทับจากโรงพยาบาล แล้วนำลูกชายมาดูแลที่บ้าน หลังจากนั้นประมาณ 1 ปี ท่านไพบูลย์ อุปัติศฤงค์ นายก อบจ.ภูเก็ต พร้อมด้วยทีมงานโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ และ อสม. ก็เข้ามาเยี่ยมที่บ้านเป็นทีมแรก และนำเข้าโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ โดยได้มาเยี่ยมอย่างต่อเนื่องทุกปี พร้อมทีมแพทย์ พยาบาล นักกายภาพบำบัดของโรงพยาบาล อบจ.ภูเก็ต ได้มาตรวจเช็คร่างกายให้กับผู้ป่วย รวมถึงให้คำแนะนำต่างๆ ในการดูแลผู้ป่วย ดังนั้น จากที่เคยท้อแท้หมดหวัง จึงทำให้มีกำลังใจต่อสู้มากขึ้น

ขณะที่ นางวชิรา ตันสกุล พยาบาลวิชาชิพ รพ.สต.กะทู้ ผู้ประสานงานกับทาง อบจ.ภูเก็ต กล่าวว่า “เมื่อ 5 ปีก่อน คุณวรพล มีอาการชาที่ร่างกายท่อนล่าง ต้องใส่สายทางเดินปัสสาวะ เราก็ไปช่วยดูแลและสนับสนุนนำเข้าโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ ของ อบจ.ภูเก็ต และช่วยสนับสนุนเรื่องเปลี่ยนสายสวนปัสสาวะ แต่เขาจะเปลี่ยนเองได้ และมีแผลกดทับ จึงต้องใช้แผ่นรองจากโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์ เดือนละ 2 ห่อ ซึ่งตอนนี้เขาแข็งแรงแล้ว แต่ก็ยังน่ารัก คอยช่วยเหลือผู้ป่วยโครงการภูเก็ตแคร์คนอื่นๆ โดยนำผ้าอ้อมไปให้บ้าง เป็นประชาสัมพันธ์บ้าง อีกทั้งยังช่วยเหลือครอบครัวตัวเอง ถือว่าเป็นตัวอย่างให้กับผู้ป่วยคนอื่นๆ มีกำลังใจในการต่อสู้ชีวิตได้ดีอีกด้วย”.
