จังหวัดภูเก็ต เปิดพื้นที่เรียนรู้เครือข่าย ทสม.ด้านการจัดการขยะชุมชนเมือง ที่ตำบลกมลา เพื่อสร้างกระบวนการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชนต่อการจัดการปัญหาขยะ และเป็นกลไกเฝ้าระวังทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างยั่งยืน

เมื่อวันที่ 31 สิงหาคม  2558  เวลา 10.30 น. ที่บริเวณลานอเนกประสงค์ องค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลกมลา อำเภอกะทู้ จังหวัดภูเก็ต นายสายัณห์ ชนะชัยวงศ์ นายอำเภอกะทู้ เป็นประธานเปิดพื้นที่เรียนรู้เครือข่ายอาสาสมัครพิทักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมหมู่บ้าน หรือ ทสม. ด้านการจัดการขยะชุมชนเมืองกมลา ซึ่งดำเนินการโดยกรมส่งเสริมคุณภาพสิ่งแวดล้อม จัดทำขึ้น เพื่อเป็นพื้นที่ต้นแบบการเรียนรู้ด้านการจัดการขยะชุมชนเมือง รวมทั้งสร้างกระบวนการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชนต่อการจัดการปัญหาขยะชุมชน และเป็นกลไกเฝ้าระวังทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างยั่งยืน โดยมีนายนพพร กรุณา รองนายกองค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลกมลา ให้การต้อนรับ /มีนายอิสมาแอล ยมดี ประธานคณะกรรมการพื้นที่เรียนรู้ เครือข่าย ทสม.ด้านการจัดการขยะชุมชนเมืองกมลา ตลอดจน สมาชิก ทสม.ตำบลกมลา และ หน่วยงานราชการที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วม

นายอิสมาแอล ยมดี ประธานคณะกรรมการพื้นที่เรียนรู้ เครือข่าย ทสม.ด้านการจัดการขยะชุมชนเมืองกมลา กล่าวว่า เครือข่าย ทสม.ตำบลกมลา นั้น เป็นการรวมตัวกันของผู้มีจิตอาสาและใจรักในสิ่งแวดล้อม มีบทบาทสำคัญในฐานะผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลง และเป็นกลไกในการประสานความร่วมมือในการจัดการทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมในระดับท้องถิ่นอย่างยั่งยืน โดยมีการขับเคลื่อนงานมาตั้งแต่ปี 2547 ซึ่งที่ผ่านมา ทสม.กมลา ร่วมกับ ทสม.ในจังหวัดภูเก็ต และภาคีเครือข่ายทั้งภาครัฐ และภาคเอกชนในพื้นที่ดำเนินการอย่างต่อเนื่อง จนสามารถยกระดับเป็นเครือข่ายอาสาสมัครพิทักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมหมู่บ้าน ตำบลกมลา ในปี 2550 โดยมีสมาชิกจากทั้ง 6 หมู่บ้านในตำบลกมลา จำนวน 54 คน ซึ่ง ทสม.กมลา ทำงานขับเคลื่อนเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมร่วมกับประชาชนท้องถิ่น และภาคส่วนต่าง ๆ อย่างจริงจัง จนสามารถแก้ไขปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในชุมชนได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม จนได้รับคัดเลือกจาก กรมส่งเสริมคุณภาพสิ่งแวดล้อม เป็นพื้นที่ต้นแบบการเรียนรู้ด้านการจัดการขยะชุมชนเมือง ในปี 2558 โดยในพื้นที่เรียนรู้มีการจัดแสดงการจัดการขยะด้วยภูมิปัญญาของชาวชุมชนกมลา ได้แก่ การจัดการขยะเหลือศูนย์ / การเปลี่ยนขยะเป็นสวัสดิการชีวิต / การจัดการขยะในสถานประกอบการขนาดเล็ก / แนวคิดขยะปันสุข /กระบวนการรียูสเปลี่ยนขยะเป็นบุญ และกระบวนการสร้างสำนึกพลเมืองและธรรมนูญตำบลจากขยะ ทั้งนี้เพื่อทำให้จังหวัดภูเก็ตยังคงเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่มีทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่งดงามตลอดไป
