เมื่อวันที่ 27 ธันวาคม 2559 เวลา 13.30 น. นางสาวสมใจ สุวรรณศุภพนา นายกเทศมนตรีนครภูเก็ต เป็นประธานประชุมเตรียมความพร้อมการจัดงาน “ตรุษจีน-ย้อนอดีตเมืองภูเก็ต ครั้งที่ 18” พร้อมด้วยนายกวี ตันสุคตานนท์ รองนายกเทศมนตรีนครภูเก็ต นายธวัชชัย ทองมั่ง ปลัดเทศบาล นางสาวชุติมา สนิทเปรม รองปลัดเทศบาล ผู้อำนวยการสถานศึกษาในสังกัดเทศบาล หัวหน้าส่วนราชการ ครู และพนักงาน เข้าร่วมการประชุม ณ ห้องประชุมสภาเทศบาลนครภูเก็ต ชั้น 7

เทศบาลนครภูเก็ต กำหนดจัดงาน “ตรุษจีน-ย้อนอดีตเมืองภูเก็ต ครั้งที่ 18” ขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 2 – 4 กุมภาพันธ์ 2560 ณ บริเวณย่านการค้าเมืองเก่าจังหวัดภูเก็ต โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออนุรักษ์และพัฒนาสิ่งแวดล้อม ด้านสถาปัตยกรรมประเพณี วิถีชีวิตภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นของเมืองภูเก็ตให้คงอยู่สืบไป
