เมื่อวันที่ 19 เมษายน 2558 เทศบาลนครภูเก็ต โดยนางสาวสมใจ สุวรรณศุภพนา นายกเทศมนตรีนครภูเก็ตพร้อมด้วยสมาชิกสภาเทศบาล หัวหน้าส่วนราชการ และพนักงานเทศบาลเทศบาลนครภูเก็ต ได้ร่วมเป็นเจ้าภาพถวายภัตตาหารเพล แก่สามเณรภาคฤดูร้อนฯ ประจำปี 2558 ณ  เลในเมือง สวนสาธารณะสะพานหิน

เทศบาลนครภูเก็ตร่วมกับวัดมงคลนิมิตร (พระอารามหลวง) จัดบรรพชาและฝึกอบรมพัฒนาศักยภาพสามเณรภาคฤดูร้อน ประจำปี 2558 เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯสยามบรมราชกุมารี  เนื่องในโอกาสทรงเจริญพระชนมพรรษา 5 รอบ ซึ่งเทศบาลนครภูเก็ตได้ให้ความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาเยาวชนอันเป็นทรัพยากรของชาติให้มีความพร้อมทั้งทางด้านร่างกายและจิตใจในการดำรงชีพอยู่ในสังคมปัจจุบันได้อย่างปกติสุขจึงจำเป็นต้องนำหลักธรรมในพระพุทธศาสนามาหล่อหลอมเยาวชนไทยให้เป็นบุคลากรที่ดีของชาติต่อไป
