ผบ.ตร.ลงพื้นที่ภูเก็ตเปิดอาคารตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 แห่งใหม่ ที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต

เมื่อช่วงเช้าวันที่ 11 กันยายน  2558  ที่อาคารที่ทำการตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 ถนนเทพกระษัตรี ตำบลไม้ขาว อำเภอถลาง จังหวัดภูเก็ต พล.ต.อ.สมยศ พุ่มพันธุ์ม่วง ผู้บัญชาการตำรวจแห่งชาติ เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดอาคารที่ทำการตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 พร้อมประกอบพิธีทางศาสนา เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคลแก่ข้าราชการตำรวจ และเจ้าหน้าที่ โดยมีข้าราชการชั้นผู้ใหญ่ ข้าราชการตุลาการ หัวหน้าส่วนราชการ กงสุลกิตติมศักดิ์ ตลอดจนแขกผู้เกียรติ ในพื้นที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต และใกล้เคียง เข้าร่วมพิธีจำนวนมาก โดยมีพล.ต.ท.เดชา บุตรน้ำเพชร ผู้บัญชาการตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการตำรวจในสังกัดตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 ให้การต้อนรับ

อาคารที่ทำการตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 แห่งใหม่นี้ เกิดจากนโยบายของ พล.ต.อ. เสรีพิศุทธ์ เตมียาเวส อดีตผู้บัญชาการตำรวจแห่งชาติ ในปี พ.ศ. 2550 ที่มีดำริให้กองบัญชาการต่างๆ หาสถานที่ก่อสร้างกองบัญชาการใหม่ เพื่อรองรับความเจริญเติบโตในอนาคต ซึ่งกรมธนารักษ์ได้อนุมัติเมื่อวันที่ 18 มกราคม 2551 ให้ตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 ใช้พื้นที่จำนวน 159 ไร่ 1 งาน 74 ตารางวา ที่ตำบลไม้ขาว อำเภอถลาง จังหวัดภูเก็ต ประกอบกับได้มองเห็นความสำคัญของยุทธศาสตร์การท่องเที่ยวในฝั่งทะเลอันดามันที่เจริญเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว และเป็นรายได้สำคัญของประเทศ จำเป็นต้องสร้างความเชื่อมั่นในด้านความปลอดภัยในชีวิตและทรัพย์สิน จึงได้ของบประมาณเพื่อก่อสร้างอาคารและสิ่งปลูกสร้างต่าง ๆ ในพื้นที่ดังกล่าว อาคารที่ทำการตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 ออกแบบด้วยสถาปัตยกรรมแบบชิโนโปรตุกีส ซึ่งเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของท้องถิ่น มีพื้นที่ใช้สอยกว่า 9 พันตารางเมตร จากเงินงบประมาณปี 2555 กว่า 83 ล้านบาท โดยได้ลงนามก่อสร้างตั้งแต่วันที่ 30 พฤษภาคม 2556 และก่อสร้างแล้วเสร็จเมื่อวันที่ 6 ธันวาคม 2557 รวมระยะเวลาในการก่อสร้าง 555 วัน ซึ่งตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 ได้เคลื่อนย้ายกำลังพลมาปฏิบัติงานตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 สิงหาคม 2558 ที่ผ่านมา ปัจจุบันตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 มีอาคารบ้านพัก 27 หน่วย อยู่ระหว่างก่อสร้าง 95 หน่วย นอกจากนี้ยังได้รับงบประมาณในการจัดซื้อครุภัณฑ์และก่อสร้างอาคารบ้านพักซึ่งมีความจำเป็นเร่งด่วน เป็นเงินกว่า 80 ล้านบาท เพื่อให้พร้อมปฏิบัติงานภายในปี 2558 และยังได้เสนอของบประมาณในปี 2559 ผูกพัน ปี 2560 อีกกว่า 156 ล้านบาท เพื่อก่อสร้างกองบังคับการสืบสวนสอบสวนตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 และอาคารบ้านพักอีก 270 หน่วย ซึ่งผ่านการพิจารณาจากสภานิติบัญญัติแห่งชาติเรียบร้อยแล้ว อย่างไรก็ตามเพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคลแก่ข้าราชการตำรวจ เจ้าหน้าที่ และครอบครัวที่เสียสละความสุขส่วนตัวมาปฏิบัติหน้าที่ และทุ่มเทร่วมกันเพื่อพัฒนา อาคารที่ทำการแห่งนี้ให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดแก่ประชาชนตามนโยบายของรัฐบาล และสำนักงานตำรวจแห่งชาติ ตำรวจภูธรภาค 8 จึงประกอบพิธีเปิดอาคารในครั้งนี้ขึ้น
