เมื่อวันที่ 7 มีนาคม 2559 ที่ผ่านมา ที่ชุมชนศักดิเดช ซอย 9 หมู่ 1 ตำบลวิชิต อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดภูเก็ต นายจำเริญ ทิพญพงศ์ธาดา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต พร้อมด้วย ดร.ประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต หน่วยงานรัฐวิสาหกิจที่เกี่ยวข้อง ได้ลงพื้นที่ตามโครงการตรวจเยี่ยมชุมชนยามเย็นเขตชุมชนศักดิเดช ซอย9 หมู่ 1 ตำบลวิชิต อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดภูเก็ต
ตามโครงการส่งเสริมและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตประชาชนในพื้นที่ชุมชนจังหวัดภูเก็ต “ผู้ว่าฯ เยี่ยมบ้านยามเย็น”เพื่อเสริมสร้างขวัญกำลังใจและรับฟังปัญหา ความต้องการของประชาชนเขตชุมชนศักดิเดช ซอย9 หมู่ที่1 ตำบลวิชิต อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดภูเก็ต พบว่ามีจำนวนครัวเรือนทั้งหมด 26 ครัวเรือน ประชาชนในชุมชนจำนวน 86 คน ซึ่งชาวบ้านส่วนใหญ่เป็นชาวพุทธ ประกอบอาชีพรับจ้าง ค้าขาย ทำขนมจาก จากการลงพื้นที่พบว่ามีปัญหาส่วนใหญ่ในเรื่องของน้ำและไฟฟ้า ในส่วนของไฟฟ้ามีการต่อพ่วงมาจากบ้านหน้าชุมชนทำให้ค่าไฟฟ้าแพงกว่าปกติ ซึ่งทางชุมชนได้เรียนทางผู้ว่าฯให้ทราบถึงความเดือดร้อน ซึ่งทางผู้ว่าฯ ได้ให้ทางส่วนราชการที่เกี่ยวข้องให้การช่วยเหลือกับทางชุมชนในส่วนนี้โดยให้ติดตั้งมิเตอร์รวมเพื่อเป็นการช่วยเหลือเบื้องต้น โดยได้สั่งการให้ ดร.ประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล และนายสมยศ วิจักรขณาวุธ รองนายกเทศบาลตำบลวิชิตให้ติดตามดูแลในเรื่องนี้
ทั้งนี้ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ตได้มอบหมายให้หน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องตั้งคณะทำงานเพื่อเป็นการดูแลชุมชนในส่วนหนึ่ง และยังให้มีการจัดตั้งกลุ่มพัฒนาอาชีพให้รวมกลุ่มกันเพื่อให้เป็นรายได้เข้ามาในชุมชน นอกจากนี้ยังมีการมอบชุดอุปกรณ์กีฬาและเครื่องอุปโภคบริโภคจากอำเภอเมืองภูเก็ตและกาชาด เพื่อเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการช่วยเหลือชุมชนในเบื้องต้นและเป็นการสร้างขวัญกำลังใจให้กับชุมชนต่อไป
