สภาเทศบาลนครภูเก็ตเห็นชอบรับหลักการงบประมาณปี 2559 กว่า 900 ล้านบาท เน้นพัมนาการศึกษาและปรับโครงสร้างพื้นฐานในเขตเทศบาล

เมื่อวันที่ 10 สิงหาคม  2558  เวลา 10.00 น. นายพงศ์สิงห์ ณ นคร ประธานสภาเทศบาลนครภูเก็ต สมัยสามัญสมัยที่ 3 โดยมีนางสาวสมใจ สุวรรณศุภพนา นายกเทศมนตรีนครภูเก็ต คณะผู้บริหาร สมาชิกสภาเทศบาลนครภูเก็ต ส่วนราชการเข้าร่วม

สำหรับวาระการประชุมที่สำคัญ มีการพิจารณาร่างเทศบัญญัติงบประมาณรายจ่ายประจำปีงบประมาณ พ.ศ. 2559 ในวาระที่ 1 ขั้นรับหลักการของกองวิชาการและแผนงาน วงเงินงบประมาณกว่า 900 ล้านบาท โดยเน้นการพัฒนาด้านการศึกษา สร้างอาคารเรียนโรงเรียนเทศบาลปลูกปัญญาฯ โรงเรียนเทศบาลเมืองภูเก็ต การปรับปรุงสวนสาธารณะเฉลิมพระเกียรติ ร. 9 การแก้ปัญหาน้ำท่วมในเขตเทศบาลนครภูเก็ต การแก้ปัญหาภัยแล้ง ปัญหาขยะมูลฝอย และการปรับปรุงระบบสาธารณูปโภคพื้นฐานในเขตเทศบาล ถนนถลางและถนนเยาวราช เป็นต้น
