นายอิบเดลอิลละห์เอลฮูสนี กล่าวว่า การเข้าเยี่ยมผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ตในวันนี้เพื่อหารือในเรื่องของประเด็น ทวินซิตตี้ ความสัมพันธ์บ้านพี่บ้านน้อง ระหว่างจังหวัดภูเก็ตกับเมืองทองเจีย ซึ่งเป็นเมืองที่อยู่ชายทะเล แถบทะเลคาเรเบียนของประเทศโมรอคโค ซึ่งความสัมพันธ์ของประเทศโมรอคโคปกครองด้วยระบบกษัตริย์ มีความสัมพันธ์ในเรื่องของสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์มายาวนาน ขณะนี้ทางโมรอคโคก็ได้แต่งตั้งกงสุลกิตติมศักดิ์ ประจำหัวหิน จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ในด้านของจังหวัดภูเก็ต ในแต่ละปียังมีนักท่องเที่ยวของโมรอคโค ประมาณ 10,000 คนเข้ามาท่องเที่ยวที่จังหวัดภูเก็ตในแต่ละปี นักท่องเที่ยวของโมรอคโคแม้จะดูว่ามีจำนวนน้อย แต่ก็เป็นนักท่องเที่ยวระดับ วีไอพี ทั้งสิ้น โดยจะเดินมาด้วยเครื่องบินเจ็ท ส่วนตัว มาพักในโรงแรมต่าง ๆ ในจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นระยะเวลาค่อนข้างยาวนาน ประมาณ 1 เดือน ขึ้นไป ทำให้ชาวโมรอคโค สนใจมาเที่ยวในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ดังนั้นการสร้างสัมพันธ์ ทวินซิตตี้ ก็จะเป็นผลดีระหว่าง 2 เมือง จะได้เดินทางไปมหาสู่ในเรื่องของการท่องเที่ยวได้สะดวกขึ้น เนื่องจากเมืองทองเจียเป็นเมืองชายทะเล จะมีลักษณะคล้ายคลึงกับจังหวัดภูเก็ตเช่นกัน

ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต กล่าวว่า ทางจังหวัดภูเก็ตก็มีความสนใจในเรื่องสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์กับเมืองทองเจีย โดยในเบื้องต้นได้ให้กลุ่มยุทธศาสตร์ จัดส่งร่างที่เป็น MOU ตามที่ตกลง MOU ในเรื่อง ทวินซิตตี้ จึงเรียนเอกอัครราชทูตในเบื้องต้น ด้านหนังสือที่เป็นทางการก็จะส่งกลับไปยังประเทศโมรอคโคต่อไปเพื่อเป็นการสร้างความสัมพันธ์อันดีทั้งระดับจังหวัดและระดับประเทศต่อไป
