ดร. ประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล กล่าวว่า ทางคณะสงฆ์จังหวัดภูเก็ตและภาคราชได้ประชุมร่วมกันเมื่อวันที่ 28 มิถุนายน  2559 ณ โรงเรียนพุทธมงคลนิมิต อ. เมือง จ. ภูเก็ต เพื่อลงนามความร่วมมือโครงการสร้างความปรองดองสมานฉันท์ “หมู่บ้านรักษาศีล 5” และที่ประชุมมีมติให้ตั้งคณะทำงานเพื่อแก้ปัญหาพระภิกษุประพฤติอาจาระ (ความประพฤติ) ไม่เหมาะสม โดยแต่งตั้งเจ้าหน้าที่ของรัฐและบุคลากรที่เกี่ยวข้องให้ปฏิบัติงานอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม ในวันนี้ (13 ก.ค. 59) จึงเป็นการประชุมคณะทำงานชุดดังกล่าวเพื่อกำหนดแนวทางและกำหนดแผนดำเนินการในการออกกวาดล้างพระภิกษุ สามเณร ที่ไม่ประพฤติตามพระธรรมวินัย ทั้ง 3 อำเภอในจังหวัดภูเก็ต
