เมื่อวันที่ 24 พฤศจิกายน  2558  เวลา 15.00 น.  ที่ห้องประชุมคอซิมบี้ ศาลากลางจังหวัดภูเก็ต กระทรวงมหาดไทยจัดประชุมคณะอำนวยการบูรณาการแก้ไขปัญหาวิกฤตภัยแล้ง ปี 2558 ผ่านระบบวีดิทัศน์ทางไกล ไปยังทุกจังหวัดทั่วประเทศ โดยในส่วนของจังหวัดภูเก็ต มีนายภาคภูมิ อินทรสุวรรณ ปลัดจังหวัดภูเก็ต พร้อมส่วนราชการที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วมประชุม

นายภาคภูมิ อินทรสุวรรณ กล่าวว่า การประชุมคณะกรรมการอำนวยการแก้ปัญหาวิกฤตภัยแล้วประจำปี 2558 เห็นชอบให้มีการปรับรายละเอียดโครงการและหลักเกณฑ์พิจารณากลั่นกรองโครงการแก้ปัญหาภัยแล้ว ซึ่งมีกระทรวงมหาดไทย กระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์และสำนักงบประมาณ ร่วมกันชี้แจง เพื่อให้คณะกรรมการได้รับทราบแนวทางการขับเคลื่อนโครงการ ทั้งนี้โครงการที่ไม่ควรให้การสนับสนุนงบประมาณ ประกอบด้วย โครงการพื้นที่ที่ทำนาไปแล้วมีปัญหาแหล่งน้ำ โครงการจัดซื้อวัวควายและเครื่องจักร เครื่องยนต์ รถไถ การจัดซื้อปุ๋ย สารเคมี ยาปราบศัตรูพืช เป็นต้น ขณะที่ในส่วนของโครงการที่อยู่ในขอบเขตดำเนินการ ตัวอย่างโครงการ อาทิเช่น การจัดการแหล่งน้ำเพื่อเกษตรกรของหมู่บ้านและชุมชน การผลิตและแปรรูปผลผลิตทางการเกษตร เพื่อสร้างรายได้ในฤดูแล้ง การปรับปรุงส่งเสริมศักยภาพเพิ่มผลผลิตการจัดการเพื่อลดความสูญเสียผลผลิตทางการเกษตร โครงการเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง สร้างแหล่งอาหารในชุมชน การพัฒนาอาชีพและรายได้ การสร้างอาชีพนอกภาคเกษตรกรรม การจ้างงาน เป็นต้น
