นายกนกศักดิ์ กำเกิด กล่าวว่า เนื่องด้วยทางกลุ่ม WAR 4×4 และคณะผู้จัดงาน ได้ร่วมกันจัดการแข่งขัน รถยนต์ขับเคลื่อน 4 ล้อ เพื่อการกุศล ในชื่องาน WHEEL WAR Adventure 4×4 Phuket ในระหว่างวันที่ 5 – 6 มีนาคม 2559 ณ บริเวณแยกสนามบินเก่า ริมถนนเทพกระษัตรี ในการจัดการแข่งขันครั้งนี้ จัดขึ้นเพื่อสนับสนุนการท่องเที่ยวของจังหวัดภูเก็ตและจัดหารายได้ (หลังหักค่าใช้จ่าย) เพื่อจัดซื้ออุปกรณ์ช่วยเหลืองานกู้ภัยให้แก่อาสาสมัครมูลนิธิร่วมกตัญญู จังหวัดภูเก็ต เพื่อช่วยเหลือนักท่องเที่ยวและผู้สัญจรทางถนนที่ประสบอุบัติเหตุ เนื่องจากปัจจุบันในจังหวัดภูเก็ต มีผู้ใช่รถบนท้องถนนค่อนข้างมาก มีทั้งคนในพื้นที่และนักท่องเที่ยวที่มาท่องเที่ยวในจังหวัดภูเก็ต เมื่อเกิดอุบัติเหตุ เครื่องมือและอุปกรณ์ให้ความช่วยเหลืองานกู้ภัยยังไม่เพียงพอ ทำให้การช่วยเหลือผู้ที่ได้รับบาดเจ็บเป็นไปด้วยความล่าช้า ทางคณะผู้จัดงานจึงเล็งเห็นความสำคัญของอุปกรณ์ที่ต้องใช้ในงานช่วยเหลืองานกู้ภัย เพราะการทำงานที่มีความรวดเร็วนั้น สามารถช่วยชีวิตผู้ที่ได้รับบาดเจ็บได้มากขึ้นทำให้ความสูญเสียลดน้อยลง ในการแข่งขันรถยนต์ขับเคลื่อน 4 ล้อ ในครั้งนี้ มีประเภทการแข่งขันทั้งหมด 5 รุ่น การแข่งขัน ซึ่งประกอบด้วย รุ่นปีกนก รุ่นคานแข็ง รุ่นเที่ยวป่าทั่วไป รุ่นเที่ยวป่าโอเพ่น และรุ่นซุปเปอร์โอเพ่น มีรถเข้าร่วมการแข่งขันจำนวน 63 คัน จากทุกภาคของประเทศและเพื่อนบ้านจากประเทศมาเลเซีย อีกทั้งภายในวันงานจัดการแข่งขันยังมีการแสดงฟรีคอนเสิร์ตของศิลปิน เต็มนาวา และวงกินรี ให้ผู้เข้าร่วมได้รับชมและร่วมสนุกตลอดงาน
