กองวิจัยและพัฒนาประมงทะเล กรมประมง จัดประชุมชี้แจงเพื่อให้ความรู้ด้านการประมงแก่ชาวประมง และผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียทางฝั่งทะเลอันดามัน ตามพระราชกำหนดการประมง พ.ศ.2558.

เมื่อวันที่ 27 พฤษภาคม  2559  ที่ห้องประชุม โรงแรมภูเก็ตเมอร์ลิน อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดภูเก็ต
ดร. ประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เปิดการประชุมชี้แจงเพื่อให้ความรู้ด้านการประมงแก่ชาวประมงและผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียทางฝั่งทะเลอันดามัน ซึ่งกองวิจัยและพัฒนาประมงทะเล กรมประมง จัดขึ้น โดยมีนายเกียรติศักดิ์ เกษมพันธ์กุล ประมงจังหวัดภูเก็ต พร้อมด้วย นายสุชาติ แสงจันทร์ ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนาประมงทะเลฝั่งอันดามัน (ภูเก็ต) ตลอดจนผู้ประกอบการประมงและผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียทางฝั่งทะเลอันดามัน ซึ่งประกอบด้วย จังหวัดภูเก็ต พังงา กระบี่ สตูล ตรัง และ ระนอง จำนวนกว่า 100 คน เข้าร่วมรับฟังการชี้แจง

การประชุมชี้แจงเพื่อให้ความรู้ด้านการประมงแก่ชาวประมง และผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียทางฝั่งทะเลอันดามันในครั้งนี้ สืบเนื่องจากกรมประมงได้ร่วมมือกับองค์การอาหารและเกษตรแห่งสหประชาชาติ หรือ F-A-O และศูนย์พัฒนาการประมงแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ในการดำเนินงานวิจัยตามกลยุทธ์ในการจัดการสัตว์น้ำพลอยจับได้จากการประมงอวนลาก โดยดำเนินการใน 2 พื้นที่ คือ บริเวณอ่าวไทยตอนกลาง เขตพื้นที่จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ และชุมพร โดยได้ทำการทดลองขยายขนาดตาอวนก้นถุงอวนลาก ทั้งอวนลากแผ่นตะเฆ่ และอวนลากคู่ จาก 2.5 เซ็นติเมตร เป็น 4.0 เซนติเมตร
และบริเวณอ่าวไทยฝั่งตะวันออก เขตพื้นที่จังหวัดตราด ทดลองทำการปิดพื้นที่ฤดูกาลที่สัตว์น้ำวางไข่และเลี้ยงตัวในวัยอ่อน ซึ่งผลการดำเนินตามแผนงานดังกล่าวทั้ง 2 พื้นที่ ได้รับการยอมรับเป็นอย่างดีจากชาวประมงและผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียในพื้นที่ จนนำมาสู่การประกาศของศูนย์บัญชาการแก้ปัญหาการทำประมงผิดกฎหมาย หรือ ศป.มผ. ในการขยายขนาดตาอ้วนก้นถุงอวนลากแผ่นตะเฆ่และอวนลากคู่เป็น 5 เซ็นติเมตร และแก้ไขเป็น 4 เซนติเมตร ตามประกาศฉบับล่าสุด ส่วนการปิดพื้นที่ฤดูที่ปลาวางไข่และเลี้ยงตัวอ่อนนั้น อยู่ในระหว่างการพิจารณาและประกาศใช้

ทั้งนี้ เพื่อเป็นการประชาสัมพันธ์ผลการดำเนินงาน จากทั้ง 2 พื้นที่ เพื่อเป็นแนวทางในการบริหารจัดการประมงในแต่ละเขตจังหวัด รวมทั้งให้ความรู้ด้านสถานการณ์การทำประมง ตามพระราชกำหนดการประมง พ.ศ.2558 รวมทั้งแผนการบริหารจัดการประมงทะเลของประเทศไทย รวมถึงแผนปฏิบัติการระดับชาติ ในการป้องกัน ยับยั้ง และขจัดการทำประมง IUU แก่ชาวประมงและผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียในเขตจังหวัดชายทะเล 6 จังหวัดทางฝั่งทะเลอันดามัน กองวิจัยและพัฒนาประมงทะเล กรมประมง จึงจัดการประชุมชี้แจงในครั้งนี้ขึ้น
