องค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดภูเก็ต ร่วมจัดงาน “Light Up Phuket รำลึก 10 ปีสึนามิ”

นายสุธี ทองแย้ม รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดงาน “Light Up Phuket รำลึก 10 ปีสึนามิ” พร้อมด้วย นายไพบูลย์ อุปัติศฤงค์ นายกองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดภูเก็ต กล่าวรายงาน ความเป็นมาของการจัดงาน และนางสาวเฉลิมลักษณ์ เก็บทรัพย์ นายกเทศมนตรีเมืองป่าตอง กล่าวต้อนรับผู้เข้าร่วมงาน ซึ่งมี คณะผู้บริหาร อบจ.ภูเก็ต สมาชิกสภา อบจ.ภูเก็ต ข้าราชการ และเจ้าหน้าที่ อบจ.ภูเก็ต พร้อมด้วย อุปทูตเนปาลประจำประเทศไทย กงสุลกิตติมศักดิ์ประจำจังหวัดภูเก็ต ตลอดจนแขกผู้มีเกียรติ ประชาชนทั้งชาวไทย และชาวต่างชาติ ณ บริเวณสวนสาธารณะโลมา (หาดป่าตอง) อำเภอกะทู้ จังหวัดภูเก็ต

สำหรับกิจกรรมในงาน “Light Up Phuket รำลึก 10 ปีสึนามิ” ปี 2557 ซึ่งครบรอบ 10 ปี ของการเกิดเหตุการณ์สึนามิ ได้จัดพิธีวางช่อดอกไม้และเชิญชวนประชาชน นักท่องเที่ยว ร่วมจุดเทียนรำลึกแด่ผู้ที่ล่วงลับไปกับเหตุการณ์ธรณีพิบัติคลื่นยักษ์สึนามิ การจัดนิทรรศการให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับภัยสึนามิและความเสียหายหลังเกิดเหตุการณ์สึนามิ เพื่อเตือนสติและเรียนรู้วิธีป้องกันตนเองจากภัยพิบัติธรรมชาติ การจัดนิทรรศการแสดงผลงานภาพวาดของนักเรียนในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ในหัวข้อ “คลื่นแห่งกำลังใจ” พร้อมทั้งการประกวดประติมากรรมปั้นทราย

นายไพบูลย์ อุปัติศฤงค์  กล่าวว่า “เนื่องจากปีนี้ได้ครบรอบปีที่ 10 ของเหตุการณ์ธรณีพิบัติคลื่นยักษ์ “สึนามิ” ถล่มพื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเลอันดามัน เมื่อวันอาทิตย์ที่ 26 ธันวาคม 2547 ที่ผ่านมา ซึ่งส่งผลกระทบเกิดความเสียหายร้ายแรงแก่ 6 จังหวัดพื้นที่ฝั่งอันดามันของประเทศไทย ทั้งในด้านชีวิตและทรัพย์สินของประชาชนทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติเป็นอย่างมาก นอกจากนั้นยังส่งผลกระทบต่อธุรกิจการท่องเที่ยวของจังหวัดภูเก็ต ทำให้จำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวลดลงอย่างเห็นได้ชัด

แม้ว่าเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวจะคลี่คลายไปแล้ว แต่สำหรับจังหวัดภูเก็ตซึ่งเคยได้รับความเสียหายจากคลื่นยักษ์ “สึนามิ” นั้น เป็นประสบการณ์ที่ทำให้ชาวภูเก็ตต้องเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าว ซึ่งจังหวัดภูเก็ตต้องสร้างความมั่นใจให้กับประชาชนชาวภูเก็ตเอง และนักท่องเที่ยวทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติที่เดินทางเข้ามาท่องเที่ยวในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ทั้งในด้านการเฝ้าระวังและการแจ้งเตือนภัย การเตรียมความพร้อมของหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง ตลอดจนการร่วมมือกันในการฟื้นฟูความสวยงามทางธรรมชาติ ให้กลับคืนสู่ความงามที่ติดอันดับต้นของโลก โดยการจัดกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้ องค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดภูเก็ต ร่วมกับ จังหวัดภูเก็ต เทศบาลเมืองป่าตอง การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย สำนักงานภูเก็ต และองค์การพันธกิจเอเชียนในประเทศไทย ได้ร่วมจัดงาน “Light  Up Phuket” โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อให้ประชาชนและองค์กรต่างๆ ทั้งภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนร่วมรำลึกถึงผู้ที่ได้ล่วงลับจากเหตุการณ์ธรณีพิบัติคลื่นยักษ์สึนามิ และร่วมทำกิจกรรมฟื้นฟู เพื่อส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวของจังหวัดภูเก็ตให้คืนกลับมาเหมือนเดิมโดยเร็ว และเรียนรู้วิธีป้องกันตนเองจากภัยพิบัติธรรมชาติ เป็นการเตือนสตินักท่องเที่ยวหรือประชาชนทั่วไปไม่ให้ประมาทกับมหันตภัยทางธรรมชาติและเห็นความสำคัญของการมีระบบการป้องกันภัยล่วงหน้า และต้องขอขอบคุณหน่วยงานที่ให้ความช่วยเหลือและสนับสนุนการจัดงาน”

ด้านนายสุธี ทองแย้ม รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต กล่าวว่า “เหตุการณ์ในวันที่ 26 ธันวาคม 2547 ได้ก่อให้เกิดความสูญเสียอย่างประมาณค่ามิได้ ทั้งด้านชีวิต ทรัพย์สิน เศรษฐกิจ และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติทั้ง    ใต้ท้องทะเล ตลอดจนความงดงามตามแนวชายหาดแห่งทะเลอันดามัน และที่สำคัญ เหตุการณ์ในครั้งนั้นยังคงทิ้งร่องรอยแห่งความสูญเสีย ความรู้สึกหวาดผวาต่อผู้ประสบเหตุการณ์ที่รอดชีวิต ซึ่งยากที่จะลืมเลือน  แต่บนความสูญเสียในวันนั้น สิ่งหนึ่งที่เราเห็นได้ก็คือ น้ำใจของประชาชนคนไทยและจากคนทั่วโลก ที่ได้หลั่งไหลสู่ผู้ประสบภัย โดยมิได้คำนึงถึงเชื้อชาติ ศาสนาหรือภาษา พลังแห่งความมีน้ำใจเหล่านี้ได้สร้างความประทับใจและเจือจางความรู้สึกแห่งการสูญเสียทางจิตใจไปได้บ้าง

พวกเราทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชนก็ยังต้องช่วยกันร่วมมือป้องกัน ด้วยการเฝ้าระวังเตือนภัยและฝึกซ้อมรับสถานการณ์อยู่เสมอ ช่วยกันพลิกฟื้นเศรษฐกิจภูเก็ตให้เข้มแข็งยั่งยืน สร้างความเชื่อมั่นให้กับนักท่องเที่ยวที่ต้องการเดินทางมาเยือนภูเก็ตในทุกฤดูกาล และขอยืนยันต่อทุกหน่วยงานว่า  ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติของภูเก็ตยังคงความสมบูรณ์สวยงาม ชาวภูเก็ตจึงมั่นใจและพร้อมเสมอสำหรับการต้อนรับนักท่องเที่ยวที่เข้ามาท่องเที่ยวจังหวัดภูเก็ตในฐานะเจ้าบ้านที่ดี ทั้งนี้ รู้สึกภาคภูมิใจที่ได้เห็นความร่วมมือจากทุกท่าน ซึ่งได้สละเวลาอันมีค่าเข้าร่วมกิจกรรม “Light  Up Phuket รำลึก 10 ปี สึนามิ” เพื่อแสดงความไว้อาลัยแด่ผู้ที่จากไปและสร้างกำลังใจแก่ผู้ที่ได้รับผลกระทบ ให้สามารถกลับมาดำรงชีวิตได้อย่างผาสุก
