ภายใต้การอำนวยการของ พล.ต.ท.เทศา ศิริวาโท ผบช.ภ.8  พล.ต.ต.ธีระพล ทิพย์เจริญ ผบก.ภ.จว.ภูเก็ต  พ.ต.อ.พินิจ ศิริชัย รอง ผบก.ภ.จว.ภูเก็ต  นำโดย พ.ต.ท.ประวิทย์ เอ้งฉ้วน รองผกก.สส.ภ.จว.ภูเก็ต พร้อมเจ้าหน้าที่ชุดจับกุมได้ร่วมกันจับกุมผู้ต้องหาในความผิดเกี่ยวกับการลักเอาทรัพย์สินนักท่องเที่ยวที่เดินทางเข้ามาท่องเที่ยวในประเทศ และนำเอาบัตรอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ (บัตรเครดิต) ในระหว่างการเดินทางมาใช้ในการซื้อสินค้าและชำระค่าสินค้า

เมื่อวันที่ 29 พฤศจิกายน 2558  เวลาประมาณ 17.00 น. เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจได้ทำการจับกุม นายพิธาวัชร์ หรือชิต อัครฐิติวีรกุล หรือนามเดิม นายกาวาง ฝ้ายเพ็ชร์ หรือ อนุชิต ฝ้ายเพ็ชร์  อายุ 53 ปี อยู่บ้านเลขที่ 200/3 หมู่ 6 ต.ชมพู อ.เนินมะปราง จ.พิษณุโลก  พื้นเพเดิมคนป่าหลาย ต.ฉลอง อ.เมือง จ.ภูเก็ต โดยกล่าวหาว่า ร่วมกันกับ นายรักรบหรืออัฐ ดรุณพันธ์ ใช้บัตรอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ของผู้อื่นโดยมิชอบในการที่น่าจะก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายแก่ผู้อื่นหรือประชาชน และร่วมกันมีไว้เพื่อนำออกใช้ซึ่งบัตรอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ของผู้อื่นโดยมิชอบ ในการที่น่าจะก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายแก่ผู้อื่นหรือประชาชน

ในการจับกุมนำโดย พ.ต.ท.ประวิทย์ เอ้งฉ้วน พร้อมเจ้าหน้าที่ชุดจับกุม ได้รับการประสานจากทางธนาคารว่ามีการนำเอาบัตรเครดิตของนักท่องเที่ยวชาวต่างชาติมาใช้ชำระสินค้าในลักษณะที่ผิดปกติ น่าเชื่อถือว่าน่าจะเป็นบุคคลอื่นลักเอามาใช้จึงได้ทำการสืบสวน จากการสืบสวนตามจุดต่างๆที่คนร้ายนำบัตรไปใช้ เจ้าหน้าที่ได้ตำหนิรูปพรรณของคนร้ายซึ่งตรงกับผู้ต้องหารายนี้พร้อมกับพวกซึ่งมีประวัติการกระทำผิดเกี่ยวกับลักษณะดังกล่าวมาก่อนหน้านี้หลายครั้ง จากการวิเคราะห์แผนประทุษกรรมของคนร้ายพบว่าคนร้ายจะก่อเหตุตามห้างสรรรพสินค้าในเวลาก่อนบ่ายสองโมงทุกครั้งที่ก่อเหตุ และเชื่อว่าคนร้ายต้องก่อเหตุอีกอย่างแน่นอน จึงได้จัดวางกำลังเพื่อทำการจับกุม ต่อมาในวันที่ 29 พฤศจิกายน 2558 เวลาประมาณ 12.00 น. เจ้าหน้าที่พบผู้ต้องหากำลังใช้บัตรเครดิตชำระค่าสินค้าอยู่ในห้างเทสโก้โลตัส สาขาฉลอง จึงได้เฝ้าติดตามเนื่องจากเชื่อว่าคนร้ายมิได้กระทำการเพียงคนเดียว พบว่าผู้ต้องหาได้เดินขึ้นรถยนต์ที่มีเพื่อนสตาร์ทเครื่องยนต์รออยู่จึงได้แสดงตนเข้าทำการจับกุม ผู้ต้องหาได้ขึ้นรถยนต์ที่มีเพื่อนเป็นคนขับหลบหนี เจ้าหน้าที่ได้ใช้อาวุธปืนยิงยางรถยนต์จนแตกผู้ต้องหาได้ทิ้งรถยนต์คันดังกล่าวไว้ที่ซอยป่าหลายกรีน ก่อนจะขึ้นรถมาสด้า 2 หลบหนี

เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจจึงได้แจ้งให้ด่านตรวจท่าฉัตรไชยทราบและสกัดหากคนร้ายหลบหนีออกทางด่านดังกล่าว จนเวลาประมาณ 14.30 น. เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจประจำด่านตรวจท่าฉัตรไชยได้พบรถยนต์คันที่ได้รับแจ้งกำลังวิ่งออกไปยัง จ.พังงา จึงได้ติดตามไปและแจ้งให้เจ้าหน้าที่ ที่ติดตามมาตั่งแต่ต้นทราบ และสามารถจับกุมผู้ต้องหารายนี้ได้พร้อมของกลาง จากการสอบถามทำให้ทราบว่าผู้ต้องหารายนี้จะทำงานกันเป็นเครือข่าย โดยจะมีทีมที่ทำหน้าที่ลักเอาบัตรเครดิตของนักท่องเที่ยวซึ่งใส่ไว้ในกระเป๋าเดินทางบนรถโดยสารในระหว่างเดินทาง แล้วจะมีผู้ส่งบัตรที่ได้ให้แก่ผู้ต้องหาทางคาร์โก้ หรือนำมาส่งที่สนามบิน จากนั้นผู้ต้องหากับพวกจะรีบเอาบัตรเครดิตที่ได้มาไปรูดชำระซื้อสินค้าตามห้างร้านต่างๆ เน้นเป็นสินค้าที่เป็นชิ้นเล็กๆแต่ราคาแพง จากนั้นจะนำสินค้าที่ได้ไปขายให้กับร้านในเครือข่ายก่อนที่จะนำเงินมาแบ่งกันโดยคนที่ส่งบัตรมาให้จะได้รับเงิน 10,000 บาท ต่อบัตร 1 ใบ หากบัตรดังกล่าวสามารถนำไปซื้อสินค้าได้ โดยตระเวนก่อเหตุในพื้นที่ จ.ภูเก็ต ในครั้งนี้ผู้ต้องหาได้ร่วมกันกับนายรักรบ หรือัฐ ดรุณพันธ์ ซึ่งเป็นผู้ขับรถหลบหนีในขณะเจ้าหน้าที่เข้าจับกุมที่ห้างเทสโก้ โลตัส สาขาฉลอง

การจับกุมผู้ต้องครั้งนี้ได้ของกลางเป็น บัตรอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ (บัตรเครดิต) ของผู้อื่น (ชาวต่างชาติ) จำนวน 5 ใบ  รถยนต์ จำนวน 2 คัน และตรวจยึดทรัพย์สินที่ได้จากการนำเอาบัตรอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ของผู้อื่นไปชำระค่าสินค้า เช่น บุหรี่ จำนวน 300 ห่อ มูลค่าประมาณ 180,000 บาท  โทรศัพท์ ยี่ห้อซัมซุง จำนวน 3 เครื่อง มูลค่าประมาณ 47,000 บาท นาฬิกา ยี่ห้อ Gucci จำนวน 1 เรือน มูลค่าประมาณ 30,000 บาท สินค้าจำพวกกล้องถ่ายรูปจากร้านบิ๊กแคเมอร่า  มูลค่าประมาณ 30,000 บาท นอกจากนี้ยังมีทรัพย์สินที่ได้จากการกระทำดังกล่าวและได้ถูกเพื่อนที่ร่วมกันก่อเหตุนำไปจำหน่ายที่กรุงเทพก่อนหน้านี้ประกอบด้วย โทรศัพท์ ยี่ห้อ แอปเปิ้ล รุ่นไอโฟน รุ่น 6 เอส พลัส จำนวน 2 เครื่อง แทปเล็ต ยี่ห้อ แอปเปิ้ล รุ่นไอแพด มินิ จำนวน 2 เครื่อง และทรัพย์สินอื่นๆอีกหลายรายการ รวมมูลค่าทรัพย์สินที่ได้ไปทั้งหมดประมาณ 1,000,000 บาท
