นายไพบูลย์ อุปัติศฤงค์ นายกองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดภูเก็ต นำทีมคณะผู้บริหาร อบจ.ภูเก็ต สมาชิกสภา ข้าราชการ และเจ้าหน้าที่ อบจ.ภูเก็ต พร้อมด้วย นายนิสิต จันทร์สมวงศ์ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต นายสมเกียรติ สังข์ขาวสุทธิรักษ์ รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต ตลอดจนแขกผู้มีเกียรติ และประชาชนจำนวนมาก เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมนับถอยหลังสู่ศักราชใหม่ ในงาน COLORFUL COUNTDOWN PHUKET 2015 “ภูเก็ตเบิกฟ้าศักราชใหม่ ดินแดนมหัศจรรย์เรืองแสง ร่วมใจปรองดองสมานฉันท์ มอบความสุขให้ชาวภูเก็ต” โดยได้มีการจุดพลุสร้างสีสันตระการตา และร้องเพลงต้อนรับปีใหม่ร่วมกัน ณ บริเวณสนามชัย อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดภูเก็ต

สำหรับงาน COLORFUL COUNTDOWN PHUKET 2015 จัดขึ้นในระหว่างวันที่ 29-31 ธันวาคม 2557 ซึ่งในวันสุดท้ายของการจัดงาน ในช่วงเย็นได้จัดให้มีพิธีส่งพระอาทิตย์สุดท้ายของปี 2557 หลังจากนั้นในช่วงค่ำคืน ได้มีกิจกรรมการแสดงของศิลปินวง คาราบาว และขันที บีคิง พร้อมการนับเวลาถอยหลังสู่ศักราชใหม่ และจุดพลุเฉลิมฉลองปีใหม่ 2558 ซึ่งมีพี่น้องประชาชนชาวภูเก็ต และนักท่องเที่ยวให้ความสนใจเข้าร่วมงานอย่างคับคั่ง เมื่อคืนวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม 2557 ที่ผ่านมา
