จังหวัดภูเก็ต ประชุมเตรียมความพร้อมการจัดการแข่งขันเรือใบนานาชาติ ชิงถ้วยพระราชทานภูเก็ตคิงส์คัพรีกัตต้า ครั้งที่ 30 อย่างยิ่งใหญ่

เมื่อวันที่ 16 พฤศจิกายน  2559  เวลา 10.00 น.ที่ห้องประชุมศาลากลางจังหวัดภูเก็ต นางศิรวี วาเล๊ะ ท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานการประชุมเตรียมความพร้อมการแข่งขันเรือใบนานาชาติ ชิงถ้วยพระราชทาน ภูเก็ตคิงส์คัพรีกัตต้า ครั้งที่ 30 โดยมี นาวาเอกพรพรหม สกุลเต็ม รองผู้อำนวยการกองกำลังพล ทัพเรือภาคที่ 3 ในฐานะผู้อำนวยการจัดการแข่งขันเรือใบนานาชาติ ชิงถ้วยพระราชทาน ภูเก็ตคิงส์คัพรีกัตต้า ครั้งที่ 30 พร้อมด้วยผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานต่างๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง อาทิ ทัพเรือภาคที่ 3 /กองกำกับการ 8 กองบังคับการตำรวจน้ำ / สำนักงานเจ้าท่าภูมิภาคสาขาภูเก็ต / ตำรวจภูธรจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นต้น เข้าร่วม

การประชุมในครั้งนี้ เป็นการซักซ้อมทำความเข้าใจขั้นตอนต่างๆในการเตรียมการแข่งขัน อย่างไรก็ตามทุกฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้องยืนยันพร้อมดูแล ทั้งด้านการอำนวยความสะดวก และการรักษาความปลอดภัย อย่างเต็มที่

นาวาเอกพรพรหม สกุลเต็ม รองผู้อำนวยการกองกำลังพล ทัพเรือภาคที่ 3 ในฐานะผู้อำนวยการจัดการแข่งขันเรือใบนานาชาติ ชิงถ้วยพระราชทานภูเก็ตคิงส์คัพรีกัตต้า ครั้งที่ 30 กล่าวถึงการแข่งขันเรือใบนานาชาติ ชิงถ้วยพระราชทานภูเก็ตคิงส์คัพรีกัตต้า ว่าจัดขึ้นครั้งแรกเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2530 โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเป็นการเฉลิมพระเกียรติ เนื่องในโอกาสอันเป็นมหามงคลที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ทรงเจริญพระชนมายุครบ 60 พรรษา และได้มีการจัดงานในช่วงต้นเดือนธันวาคมของทุกปี ซึ่งการจัดงานครบรอบ 30 ปีในครั้งนี้ถือเป็นหลักชัยสำคัญของการแข่งขันกีฬาทางน้ำอันทรงเกียรติแห่งเอเชีย ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงประวัติศาสตร์อันยาวนานของความสำเร็จในการจัดการแข่งขันเรือใบระดับนานาชาติของไทยมาตลอด 3 ทศวรรษ และเจตจำนงอันแรงกล้าในการสืบสานและส่งเสริมกีฬาเรือใบให้ก้าวไกลสู่อนาคต

งานแข่งขันเรือใบนานาชาติชิงถ้วยพระราชทานภูเก็ตคิงส์คัพรีกัตต้าในปี 2559 คาดว่าจะมีนักกีฬาเรือใบและลูกทีมมากกว่า 1,500 คน จากกว่า 30 ประเทศทั่วโลก นำเรือใบมากกว่า 190 ลำ มาเข้าร่วมในการแข่งขัน ซึ่งจะสามารถสร้างความตื่นตาตื่นใจให้กับชาวภูเก็ตและผู้ประกอบการ เนื่องจากงานภูเก็ตคิงส์คัพรีกัตต้ามีส่วนสำคัญในการกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจมาอย่างต่อเนื่องทุกปี โดยเฉพาะการเสริมสร้างภาพลักษณ์ของภูเก็ตให้เป็นที่รู้จักทั้งในหมู่นักท่องเที่ยวและนักกีฬาเรือใบต่างชาติ ในฐานะสถานที่จัดงานแข่งขันเรือใบระดับนานาชาติชั้นนำของโลก โดยการแข่งขันในครั้งนี้ จะจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 3-10 ธันวาคม 2559
