สรุปผลการดำเนินงานป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนนและทางทะเล ในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ปี 2559 จังหวัดภูเก็ต วันสุดท้าย พบมีอุบัติเหตุเกิดขึ้น 7 ครั้ง มีผู้บาดเจ็บ 7 คน ขณะที่ขนส่งจังหวัดภูเก็ตเสริมรถ 2 คัน รองรับผู้โดยสารหลังเดินทางกลับช่วงสงกรานต์

เมื่อวันที่ 18 เมษายน  2559  ที่ศูนย์ป้องกันและบรรเทา สาธารณภัยเขต 18 ภูเก็ต นายประเจียด อักษรธรรมกุล รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานการประชุมสรุปผลการดำเนินการป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนนและทางทะเล ช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ปี 2559 โดยมีนายศิริศักดิ์ สกุลโสรัจจะ หัวหน้าสำนักงานป้องกันและบรรเทาสาธารณภัย จังหวัดภูเก็ต หัวหน้าส่วนราชการ และผู้แทนหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วม

นายศิริศักดิ์ สกุลโสรัจจะ หัวหน้าสำนักงานป้องกันและบรรเทาสาธารณภัยจังหวัดภูเก็ต สรุปผลการดำเนินการป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนน และทางทะเลช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ปี 2559 วันที่เจ็ด ซึ่งเป็นวันสุดท้ายของการรณรงค์ 17 เมษายน ที่ผ่านมา มีอุบัติเหตุทางถนนเกิดขึ้นรวม 7 ครั้ง มีผู้บาดเจ็บรวม 7 คน ขณะที่พฤติกรรมเสี่ยงสูงสุดและสาเหตุหลัก ของอุบัติเหตุในภาพรวมเกิดจาก เมาสุรา 1 ครั้ง และมีสิ่งกีดขวางบนถนน 1 ครั้ง ไม่สวมหมวกนิรภัย 4 ครั้ง ไม่มีใบขับขี่ 1 ครั้ง ประเภทยานพาหนะ ที่เกิดอุบัติเหตุสูงสุด ได้แก่ รถจักรยานยนต์ จำนวน 7 ครั้ง ประเภทถนนที่เกิดอุบัติเหตุสูงสุด ได้แก่ ถนนกรมทางหลวง 5 ครั้ง และถนนกรมทางหลวงชนบท 2 ครั้ง และมีการยึดรถตามคำสั่งหัวหน้า คสช. ที่ 46/2558 จำนวน 23 คัน เป็นรถยนต์ส่วนบุคคล 2 คัน รถจักรยานยนต์ 21 คัน และมีการยึดใบอนุญาตขับขี่ ผู้ขับขี่รถจักรยานยนต์ 2 ราย ส่วนการดำเนินการป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุ ทางทะเล ช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ปี 2559 ของจังหวัดภูเก็ต นั้น ยังไม่มีอุบัติเหตุเกิดขึ้น

สรุปผลการปฏิบัติงานป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนนและทางทะเล ในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ปี 2559 ของจังหวัดภูเก็ต รวมเจ็ดวัน มียอดการเกิดอุบัติเหตุจำนวน 57 ครั้ง พบผู้บาดเจ็บ 62 ราย และมีผู้เสียชีวิต 3 คน และมีการเรียกตรวจยานพาหนะรวมจำนวน 24,387 คัน ส่วนใหญ่ไม่สวมหมวกนิรภัย ไม่มีใบขับขี่ ไม่คาดเข็มขัดนิรภัย เมาสุรา และใช้โทรศัพท์เคลื่อนที่ขณะขับรถ ทั้งนี้เจ้าหน้าที่ มีการยึดรถตามคำสั่งหัวหน้า คสช. ที่ 46/2558 รวมจำนวน 231 คัน จำแนกเป็นรถยนต์ส่วนบุคคล 33 คัน รถยนต์โดยสารสาธารณะ 1 คัน รถจักรยานยนต์ 196 คัน รถจักรยานยนต์รับจ้าง 1 คัน และมีการยึดใบอนุญาตขับขี่รถยนต์ส่วนบุคคล 5 ราย รถจักรยานยนต์ 24 ราย รถจักรยานยนต์รับจ้าง 1 ราย และอื่นๆ 1 ราย โดยมีการส่งดำเนินคดีทั้งหมด

นายจตุรงค์ แก้วกสิ  รักษาการขนส่งจังหวัดภูเก็ต กล่าวว่า ขนส่งจังหวัดภูเก็ตได้มีการ บูรณาการร่วมตรวจวัดปริมาณแอลกอฮอล์ สารเสพติด และสิ่งผิดกฎหมาย รวมถึงใบอนุญาตขับขี่ที่ด่านตรวจภูเก็ต (ท่าฉัตรไชย) พบเหตุการณ์ปกติ ขณะที่ในส่วนของการอำนวยความสะดวกแก่ประชาชน และนักท่องเที่ยว ที่มาใช้บริการรถโดยสารที่สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารจังหวัดภูเก็ตแห่งที่ 2 หลังเดินทางกลับช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ สำนักงานขนส่งจังหวัดได้มีการจัดรถเสริมจำนวน 2 คัน ในการรองรับผู้โดยสารกว่า 100 คน เพื่อความสะดวกในการเดินทาง .
