ระหว่างวันที่ 19-21 พฤษภาคม 2558 กองพัฒนานักศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏภูเก็ต เปิดโครงการส่งเสริมการจัดกิจกรรมร่วมกับสถานศึกษา “แกนนำเยาวชนไทย ใส่ใจสิทธิมนุษยชน” โดยมี นางสมจิตต์ สุทธางกูร กรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิสภามหาวิทยาลัย เป็นประธาน ร่วมด้วย ผศ.สุทิพย์ จีนาวุธ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายพัฒนาศักยภาพนักศึกษา ตลอดจน คณะกรรมการด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน เจ้าหน้าที่ และนักศึกษา เข้าร่วม ณ อ่าวฉลอง วิลล่า รีสอร์ท แอนด์ สปา จ.ภูเก็ต

การจัดกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้ เป็นความร่วมมือระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัย และสถาบันส่งเสริมและพิทักษ์สิทธิมนุษยชน ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเพื่อให้นักศึกษาเข้าใจความหมายของคำว่า สิทธิมนุษยชนอย่างแท้จริง รวมถึงมีความรู้เกี่ยวกับสิทธิมนุษยชน ต่อต้านการใช้ความรุนแรงต่อเด็กและสตรี และสามารถนำความรู้ที่ได้รับกลับไปใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันได้อย่างถูกต้อง ซึ่งกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้มีการบรรยายหลักสิทธิมนุษยชน ได้แก่ ศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์ ชีวิตกับสิทธิขั้นพื้นฐาน ความเสมอภาค สิทธิชุมชน และกลไกการคุ้มครองสิทธิ อีกทั้งได้นำนักศึกษาลงพื้นที่ศึกษากรณีต้นแบบเรื่อง “สิทธิของชนกลุ่มน้อยชาวเลอุรักลา ตำบลราไวย์” และร่วมกันสรุปผลการจัดกิจกรรมด้านการส่งเสริมสิทธิมนุษยชนในสถาบันการศึกษา
